Urgent help please!..

I am a New seller on amazon. I have purchased 100 units of a product from a wholesale with official Invoice. The product was gated at first asking for approval request before I purchased the product. once it was approved and ungated I went ahead with the purchase. Now that the units have been delivered I went ahead with listing the product, Creating Labels and arranging pick Up, I have all of a sudden received an email asking me for Compliance Requirement???.. its asking me for a GFSI or HACCP. the product is a Protein Supplement. I am not the manufacturer of the product. please help.

This is very Amazon sadly.

You need to ask the manufacturer for that document and hope that they are a legit manufacturer who knows about food safety and are able to provide you with that information. Contact the wholesaler first and if they don’t have it at hand (again, they should if they are a good company), they can ask the manufacturer.

If they can’t and are not prepared to go and get them (there is a significant cost to them), then you have no way forward other than removing your goods and selling them elsewhere.

Amazon don’t make such things clear in advance but in fairness, as a retailer of food items, you should be asking your suppliers those questions before you make purchases, if anything, to cover yourself. It’s not as if you are buying any old widget, it’s a food item that may poison someone.

Just remember it’s your responsibility to ensure what you’re buying and selling is safe even if you’re not the manufacturer. Do you have insurance in place?

I have faced this issue too many times some stock listed since 2019 was asked recently, I had over 1000 good reviews 98% feedback to show my product 100% safe. I always ask manufacturers if they have haccp - i have NSF certification from usa which is even higher than haccp and haccp is provided in a document and sadly they dont understand NSF is far superior.

As a seller of food products, do you not think its right to have all the safety documents before listing the product. Like other platforms Amazon expect for sellers to have all safety certificates before listing anything.
