Premises license required to sell alcohol?

Hi everyone,

I am currently trying to be approved to sell alcohol on Amazon. I am acting as a wholesaler for drinks brands, the stock is being moved from the manufacturer to my warehouse and fulfillment partner who holds a premises license.

I have submitted the premises license of my warehouse and fulfillment partner as this is where the stock is being stored and sold from.

Amazon are advising the below:

Thank you for your interest in selling wine. We’ve reviewed the information you provided and determined that it does not meet our requirements. To allow us to continue processing your application, the Premises License must match your selling account information.

Can anyone with experience advise if there is a work around? My business holds a personal license but we do not believe that we need a premises license as we do not have a premises where we store and move stock from.

Thanks for any help!

David

Hi David,

We are experiencing the same issue - just wondering whether you have managed to resolve this?

Thanks!

Hi Both. We are experiencing the same thing. We use a 3rd party warehouse to store and dispute our alcohol and they have the premises license as per UK law. I keep getting the same stock answer from seller central with no explanation. I feel like I’m banging my head against a wall.

I’d be interested to know what the resolution was here. Are we best to just not bother trying to sell through Amazon? I’m in the exact same situation
