Account opened as Professional instead of individual

I opened an individual account but noticed that i am set up as professional account and have been charged monthly subscription fee as well on my credit card.
I’ve applied for it to be downgraded but dont know if and how i can request refund of the monthly fee i’ve been charged.
Please advise.

you can contact seller support to request the refund as long as you haven’t sold anything

Did you ask seller support to downgrade you ? - I am not sure if they will.
You downgrade yourself from your account settings:
Settings - Account Info - Your Services - Manage .
It will then say pending, but you will not be charged when the next fee would have been due.

People get muddled about this all the time. There’s no such thing as a “professional account”. There is, however, something called a professional selling plan. It’s this that you need to downgrade.

You can do that yourself, easily. @JillyB1 has explained how.

thanks for coming back.
I have already changed the selling plan from professional to individual and it now says Professional (Individual from your next Billing Date)_ however what i cant figure out is

  1. how I can request the refund?
  2. Do i have to wait until its downgraded to Individual before I can start selling? that would be a wait for a month i am afraid!

I agree Amazon isnt the most user friendly for new comers like me.
I think they deliberately hide inform from new sellers as they did with me firstly when dont know why and when they switched me from individual to Professional plan and 2ndly about getting this UTR number.

I am waiting for my verification to be completed and once its done i assume i can just add a product to sell but what I am not sure about is how would I post it if its sold as currently I am on professional plan and I think i can only post items via FBA which of course I am not willing and planning to do?

  1. I’ll register as Self employed and get the UTR.
  2. change my account to Business
    i can then start listing the items.

one thing i noticed after watching a youtube video that under Business information i should have an option called “Legal Entity” which might have let me see if i am individual or business and add UTR as well but i cant see that option!!
