What is this 19p subscription fee
Can’t see any reference to a subscription fee for individual sellers. Created an account a couple of hours ago, haven’t listed anything yet and have this 19p subscription fee deducted. What on earth is it and why is there no mention of it on the basic option. All help gratefully received.

It’s just a one off fee that is applied when you set up your card details.
It won’t be charged again unless you change your card.
There is a notification that pops up as you proceed, but you may have clicked through without reading it…

What you are talking about is most likely an authorisation charge, which purpose is to verify the validity of your credit card on file.
You can confirm it by reviewing the following Amazon help page which says:
”When you enter a new card or update your information for an existing card, Amazon will ask your bank to authorise a charge of up to 1 GBP to verify your identity and validate your credit card. Amazon does not actually make the charge.”

It’s an initial verification charge that you do actually pay. If you don’t sell anything by the end of the month they’ll take it from your card.
What @Kika is talking about is existing sellers updating their card details. Amazon will also initiate a charge of £1 each time you withdraw money from your Amazon seller account to check the details are correct. This amount is usually held in reserve for up to a week but doesn’t actually leave your account.
