I received an A-Z claim for an order yesterday where I purchased the shipping through Amazon. I purchase my shipping through Amazon as according to their own policy I would be protected from my ODR being hit in case of feedback or claims and to comply with VTR. I checked the delivery status when the claim came through and I could see from the tracking that there was a problem with the delivery so of cause I didn’t mind that the customer was refunded however my ODR has been hit along with my VTR. I appealed and the appeal was refused, the reason given was:
“We received the tracking information you provided for order 206-0233785-6825111. However, it does not show any tracking information on the carrier's website.”
I didn’t provide the tracking information you did! So I now want to know what the point of purchasing labels through Amazon is if they’re not going implement their own policies when things go wrong? Both my ODR and VTR are hit even though this is clearly against Amazon’s own policies!!! I can purchase the shipping for less money but I don’t so I can protect my business but what is the point if I get no protection from them? To top everything off this is what the customer wrote in the claim description:
”The parcel appears to be lost and I have been advised to cancel and receive a refund.”
So basically the customer also acknowledges that the package is lost in transit and has been advised by Amazon to open a claim instead of asking for my assistance first! Apparently we are Amazon’s “selling partners” but this must only be when they’re collecting money from us!

I've come to the same conclusion and now buy my postage through RM, Tracked 24/48, as I feel it gives me better protection against spurious INR claims.
Exactly the same has happened with us. Pointless now appealing, and pointless buying Amazon shipping. 2 Cases we have lost on the same grounds. Can`t see the point in buying through Amazon any longer
I am tired of Amazon not taking ownership of problems when they occur, for that reason I prefer to use Royal Mail Click and collect. (they have £50 compensation built into items lost), and they collect from your chosen address
We use Buy Shipping. We've been successful in ODR appeals after AtoZ have gone against us and this does help protect our account health so we find it's worth it.
Once you have a suitable template for your appeal it's just a 60 second click and paste action.

I think you already know the answer but there is no point.
We never once used buy shipping.
As you say for A-Z claims they still hit your ODR anyway (you could appeal but it’s time) and with VTR if you were using Royal Mail at least Amazon still state they verify untracked parcels.
Personally I’d not use buy shipping if you prefer other methods.
