Hi @Seller_1SzOX9empMHgd
Yes, registering your brand is a good first step. After that, you'll need to:
- Apply for Amazon Brand Registry
- Once approved, check whether you can update the existing ASIN with your brand name or if you'll need to create a new listing. According to this help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G5VG3YWGGXF4Y5WB), "if you create a new product with the brand string 'generic', or its local translation, the brand string cannot be changed later." However, I'd recommend confirming this with Seller Support for your specific case.
Kind regards, Michael

Does that mean in Amazonish "I created a listing"?
That means you have to create a NEW listing with your UPC from GS1 and with your brand.
Obviously you try to jump on an existing listing of another brand, that's why this message pops up:
It's like you would sell Pepsi-Cola on a Coca-Cola listing, of course that's not allowed.

Hi @Seller_1SzOX9empMHgd
Sandy from Amazon here. Thank you for your post.
If there is an existing brand on Amazon you will still have to get a letter of authorization (LOA) from the brand or given a selling role from the brand. Once you are authorized, you will able to update the product attribute.
