What is the best course of action for multiple counterfeiters?

Around 2 months ago we noticed that other sellers were coming onto our listing, fast forward today and there are 15 total new Chinese businesses selling on our ASIN.

The ASIN in question is the top selling product in its category, doing a lot of monthly sales.

The issue is that for this specific brand we never got any trademark, and as a result have no brand registry on Amazon for the brand.

The product is sourced from an Italian manufacturer and our company has the sole distribution rights for the brand in the UK, we wholesale it and sell it retail. All of these sellers that have come onto this listing are unknown to us.

We have placed a test buy from one of the Chinese sellers and confirmed that the product is not ours and is materially different.

I have tried to bring this to Amazons attention several times, through different methods, such as reporting it from the Amazon customer facing site, as well as making tickets through regular seller support.

The product is an automotive product, this product is produced to a strict standard, with a specific grade of metal - the counterfeits on our ASIN also pose a risk to the customers that purchase them.

We are now producing the product in question under another brand, and created a new ASIN to rival our old one (We will soon be out of stock of the original one). What gripes us, is when we sell out we will effectively have to compete against our own ASIN that should be dead in the water and not being sold anymore, but because of these Chinese counterfeiters we are now having to compete with our own work.

What can we possibly do at this stage? I have considered writing a letter to the Amazon legal team explaining the situation and informing them that the product is no longer made and anyone on the old ASIN is a counterfeiter putting customers at risk with un-tested, possibly sub-standard product. Would this be a suitable approach? At this stage we either want the ASIN closed as the product does not exist anymore when our stock runs out, or for all the other counterfeiters to be booted off the listing. What is the correct approach here, does anyone have any idea?
