Any work around for cancelling orders with Undeliverable Address?
I am getting more and more of these. Address is undeliverable. Buyers rarely respond to normal or critical messages. I also see a lot of "funny" names being used and just got one returned because no-one at the address has the name "Phil McCracken".
It happened recently so many times the ASIN was suspended temporarily for "quality". :-(
What I am doing now if it hasn't shipped is messaging the buyer to request a cancellation. I am using amazon owned Veeqo to purchase shipping and its very good about catching bad addresses. I have two here returned to me that Veeqo shipped and were returned with bad address' though,
Three points:
1. Why is Amazon able to identify a bad address when creating the shipping label but not when the customer is creating the order. That seems like a no brainer.
2. Veeqo, owned by Amazon, literally will not create a label for a bad address but Amazon
3. Amazon is pretty good covering it under a buyer initiated A-Z and not counting it against our metrics BUT, if we as sellers are proactive and provide good customer service by not shipping something that wont arrive, we get punished.
This seems like something easily correctable by Amazon. Has anyone come up with a workaround or best practice when the customer will not respond to messages?

I think when you cancel an order, there is a drop- down menu with various reasons.
Use it, and select, " address undeliverable."

In my experience, Veeqo is not good compared many other shipping platforms in catching the wrong/bad addresses, but better than Amazon.
Anyway, you can always copy -paste the address into the chrome search bar, it will lead to the home selling and other websites where you will find correct format/address for these bad addresses. I have been able to correct almost 90% of the bad addresses with this method.

I had a ship to address that was a vacant lot and the name on the order was a very well known serial killer and they still counted it against me when I cancelled the order. They really do not care.

personally i just ship it and wait for it to return they get a refund, i take a loss, but metrics are still fine

Ship it through Amazon's buy shipping program to the address provided. If it comes back, the buyer is refunded and you place the item back into your inventory. You can file a safety claim for any shipping charges.
You have to play the game using their rule book.
How do you know it is an undelliverable address? Amazon provides shipping optins for that adrress. Some addresses may not be available through USPS, but through UPS only. If that i t he case, then you have to use UPS to ship.
