Hi. I am new to Amazon.
I sold a product that cost £1649 and buyer in a few days claim it doesn't work. The return was automatically accepted, which is fine. Then the buyer said he doesn't want to use Royal Mail, so I provided unpaid Amazon label and now he replied he can't drop it off. I need to arrange collection. The buyer is known to me as he sells and buys products from the other market place. I understand none of that matters, and when I contact Amazon I received a message that it is up to me if i want to arrange collection.
I am not sure what is going on and I am pretty sure the product is fully working. I don't mind getting my product back and refunding but my concern is that buyer is trying something else. What can I do?
Personally, for a product of value of £1,649 - I'd arrange collection with suitable insurance. Especially as currently the buyer is claiming it doesn;t work, so as it stands, youd have to pay for return postage anyway.
You don't have to, and you can choose to agree an alternative postage and insist he drops it off. But at that value - I'd be going with collection.
Once you get it back, and you find it does work, you could deduct the collection costs from the refund yu supply.
I very much hope that you have familiarised yourself and are 100% confident with the ins and outs of selling on Amazon.
Selling such an expensive item is very risky for any seller but a new seller? I am scared just thinking about it. Remember that you have effectively zero protection when selling on Amazon.
Ensure you protect your business at all times with every order.
Good luck.
Totally agree with thirtythreeandathird's post - get the item collected, or suggest he uses Special Delivery, and obtains the proof of posting receipt.
Make sure it is the same as the one you sent. It isn't unknown for scammers to replace the original item with a faulty one.
I can't for the life of me work out exactly what has happened here...
I uploaded DHL return label, but buyer is saying he didn't receive it. I contacted Amazon and they informed me that I cannot upload prepaid return label, nor can they provide return label due to it being marked as Hazmat goods. It has a small lithium battery, but even mobile phones have that.
I am stuck and I don't know what to do now. I have to be honest; I have never found return so complicated before.
Please suggest something. I wrote 5 emails to Amazon, and I feel they are getting annoyed now.
