So I have gotten my first return after selling on amazon for some time now as customer claimed the product is not as described. I can see under manage returns that the product is showing auto-authorised. What steps should I take to make sure I get my product back. Should I click on issue refunds or wait till I get my product and inspect before issuing a refund? Please help anyone.
The refund is usually allocated when the return label gets its first scan. You shouldn't need to manually issue a refund.
Returns get given a return label on auto-acceptance by Amazon and when that return gets its first scan from the courier, Amazon automatically refunds them.
No, do not refund now. Ask the customer to open a return request, and you wait till you get it back. A refund will likely be issued automatically on first scan of return anyway.
Might be worth you reading the return /refund policy.
As for making sure you get the item back, that is reliant on the honesty of the buyer.
If the return is not as expected when you get it back, depending on what that is. For example, if it is not the item you send or has been damaged etc, you should raise a Safe-T claim and take a chance on Amazon siding with you.
In our experience most of our returns are instiiagted by our our competitor Amazon crop system system could pick up this flaw..
I do have bulky products and they are managed by in house delivery team. So when a return is opened up. Should I complete the request stating that item not returned because no label information is added by amazon on these items.
If anyone can guide please!
In which case the customer still has a legal duty to return said item. If you have arranged collection or have tried to arrange collection or customer is refusing to reply, then you have recourse to the Small Claims Court. Not ideal I know - and it would help if Amazon did not auto-refund in these circumstances. But you will have better success going through Small Claims than you will getting Amazon to change policy.
