Good Morning Sellers,

Thanks for sharing your feedback on the new FBA inbound workflow. Send to Amazon has been in use by Sellers worldwide since Jan’2021. Valuable feedback from Sellers like you have helped us improve the new workflow, delivering not only the core features from the old workflow, but even more. At this time, we are seeing widespread adoption across all Seller cohorts (such as International vs Domestic shipments, those using Single SKU vs Multi-SKU cartons, Small parcel vs LTL transportation options), and across marketplaces. We have addressed your needs based on the input received to date. For instance, you can pack boxes based on what works for you, while adhering to our packing recommendations. We provide the shipment splits at the box-level to avoid any need to repack later, and the splits ensure that your inventory is available to fulfill the most recent customer demand signals. In addition, you can see all shipment splits and related costs in a single page view.

More recently, we heard your feedback and launched a few new features on the Send to Amazon workflow that you may have missed. For example, (i) bulk setting of prep category, prep owner, and label owner across SKUs, and (ii) flexibility to choose a mix of transportation modes (LTL or small-parcel) for each shipment within a workflow. We will continue to make enhancements based on additional seller feedback that we will continue collecting through multiple channels (forums, surveys, in-workflow feedback, etc.). For more information, please visit the Send to Amazon program page .

We did notice a few features being repeatedly surfaced as “not available” in regards to this workflow and wanted to provide clarification on them:

How to save box weight and dimension information of single-SKU boxes to be reused across shipments?
Sellers can make use of reusable case-pack templates when they prep/label and pack single SKUs in identical boxes for every shipment. Once they have saved the details in a template, they can reuse the templates for future shipments. Sellers can save up to three case-pack templates per SKU. Learn more under “Create a case pack template” section here.

How to edit prep category, prep owner and label owner in bulk for a set of SKUs?
We recently launched the feature for Sellers to bulk apply values for prep category, prep owner and label owner across SKUs on a page in Step 1. Sellers can do this by selecting the checkboxes to the left of the SKUs and click on the bulk edit buttons that is displayed on the table header. Additionally, these settings will carry over for every new future shipment. Learn more under “Edit prep category and ownership in bulk” section here.

How to pack multiple SKUs in the same box?
Sellers have the flexibility to pack their boxes based on what works for them, as long as they adhere to Amazon’s recommendations on what SKUs can be packed together. This is especially useful if each box of their shipment is different and has custom SKUs, units, or dimensions. Sellers can choose ‘Individual Units’ under Packing details column in Step 1, and they can provide their custom packing details in Step 1b. Learn more mixed SKUs packing here and about pack groups under “Frequently asked questions” section here.

How to choose different transportation modes for each shipment within a workflow?
Sellers can choose different transportation modes for each shipment within a workflow. This functionality was recently launched. In Step 2, Sellers will see a check box, “ Shipping mode will be same for all shipments “. To use different shipping modes, Sellers need to uncheck the option and proceed to individually choose small parcel or LTL for each shipment. Sellers can decide to accept the charges shared as per their selection and only after this is done are the shipments created.

How to file upload the box content information?
Sellers have the flexibility to pack their boxes based on what works for them, as long as they adhere to Amazon’s recommendations on what SKUs can be packed together. This is especially useful if each box of their shipment is different and has custom SKUs, units, or dimensions. Sellers can choose ‘Individual Units’ under Packing details column in Step 1, and they can provide their custom packing details in Step 1b. Learn more under “ Provide box content information using an Excel file” section here.

Does Send to Amazon allow Sellers to adjust quantities after shipment is created?
Yes, Send to Amazon allows for quantity changes limited to 5% or 6 units, whichever is greater, per SKU per shipment. Sellers can edit quantities even after shipment confirmation by clicking on “View or edit contents” in each shipment card in Step 2. Learn more under “Changing shipment contents after shipment creation” section here.

Hopefully this helps clarify some of the frequently asked questions we have been seeing on this forums regarding Send to Amazon. Just a reminder that we will be holding an Ask Amazon event tomorrow June 28th from 8am to 5pm PST live on the forums.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there who may have not had their question answered already. If you cannot attend, please feel free to continue leaving questions on concerns on this thread. Thank you for checking in with us on the Seller Forums and for choosing to sell on Amazon.

Does the new Send to Amazon feature require us to use an excel spreadsheet to upload mixed skus info as not all of us have access to excel and are happy using the Web form on the old work flow

I tried the Send to Amazon process before. I couldn’t print FNKSU labels because there was either no template or incorrectly set up template for A4 44up label sheets. I also noticed that Amazon wanted LOT numbers to be entered for Groceries. So I’m concerned that Send to Amazon is gonna cause extra headaches for FBA sellers.

I despised Amazon’s new ‘Send to Amazon’ process when I tried it last year…

Really frustrated by this. It’s now going to take me at least as extra half hour every time I start an FBA shipment. Hoped there’d be enough negative feedback on the new workflow for them to leave the old one as an option. I know I gave negative feedback for it on several occasions.

It’s fine if you have the same boxes every time and are sending in regular amounts of items. as this changes for me on almost every shipment. this process is both constricting and time consuming. I can see no positives to the change for me at all.

This is nonsense, I have been using the new workflow for around 3 months now and it is by no means simpler than it used to be. More conformance, more errors, gremlins coming up showing errors and then needing refresh etc.

The other workflows were so much easier for me, used to take around 2 minutes to create a shipment and now it takes about 6 minutes to do the same job. Still if it makes Amazon’s life easier and put the positive spin by pretending it is helping sellers why not? At the coalface none of us are fooled by these statements when we put it into practice.

I can’t use the old work flow any more. Is it the 1st of September?

The new work flow is absolutely awful. It just re enforces my view that there is no way Amazon actually involve sellers in the process.

I am sorry but this is one of the the worst decisions Amazon have ever made for their seller partners. I do not want this, I am assuming many other sellers do not want this. They are taking a great user friendly version of sending items and turning it into the most un user friendly page I have ever seen. We have tried this and it doesn’t work for us. It is really awful and they need to take a U -Turn on this decision Please do not change something that works and is easy to use. What is the harm in leaving the old way as an option???

I am really struggling with the new Send to Amazon workflow. Can anyone advise if you can specify case packed items that will go into an outer shipping carton like we could on the old workflow.

Eg if I am sending 4 SKU’s as follows :-

SKU1 is in a small carton of 20 pieces
SKU2 is in a small carton of 10 pieces
SKU3 is in a small carton of 10 pieces
SKU4 is in a small carton of 30 pieces

I would normally put all 4 small cartons in an outer box to send to Amazon and each SKU would be selected as case packed.

Under the new system it appears I cannot do this because if I select case packed for a SKU I have to enter box dimensions and weight which suggest Amazon only want the shipped product to be all the same SKU.
