Policy Listing violation for using the word "hoover"
Hi.
Does anyone know how I can explain and convince SS that the term "hoover" is a verb and therefore not a protected trademark in addition to the fact that the trademarked term "Hoover" has become and genericized trademark and is therefore not protected.
I am not selling a "Hoover" product but vacuum hoover bags, as they are commonly known.
Amazon as you can expect are asking for permission to use the trademarked term. The listing has been active for a number of months and has only now been flagged
Any advice would be helpful, apart from removing the term "hoover" or adding "compatible with Hoover" as its not compatible.

were you using hoover or Hoover
if I has a panasonic vacuum cleaner - I dont think I would be searching for "Hoover Bags"
we had a problem a few years back with the word canon - it was a roleplaying rule book that said it was canon with the original edition. (eventually we got it overturned - but it took a while)
