Union OSS and FBA

Hi! We are VAT registered in Union OSS and we were planning to make a shipment to Amazon fulfilment centre in Germany. I wanted to double-check with Amazon support that Union OSS is OK to start FBA. I was surprised to see the answer that we need to get specifically German VAT number to ship inventory to amazon fulfilment centre in Germany. Can anybody explain why Union OSS is not enough? Or maybe I got wrong answer from Amazon support?

Pleas google this subject, you will find a lot of information.Yes, you need a VAT number of EACH European country you sell in.
