The UK Information commissioner + Registering for data protection

Has anyone paid data protection fees to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK? This applies if we process customer’s personal information. Any thoughts on this?

Some people have and some people are exempt. Have you received a letter asking you to go through the checklist? If not, it is on the website for the ICO.

Go through it, answer the questions truthfully…then repeat the process. Then, when you’ve done that, call them. The number is 0303 123 1113. They will then ask you the same questions and tell you if you’re exempt. We are because we only sell on Amazon and Ebay and both of those organisations are deemed the responsible ones for data security. If you are exempt, whoever it is you speak to will complete your form for you and mark you as exempt. Ensure you make a note of their name and the date you called.

Hope this helps
