Missing house number

I have lost an A to Z appeal. The item was not delivered as the customer gave an incomplete address.

Has anyone had any success writing to the MD in this scenario?

I am sorry to hear that you lost your appeal. You won’t be the first or the last in this scenario, I think. Unfortunately, I would think you would be wasting your time writing to the MD because when shipping, you have the option to decline an order if the address shows as undeliverable (which an incomplete address would do). As you didn’t choose this option and shipped the order, I suspect Amazon have viewed it as you chose to ship the item so must then accept responsibility if it doesn’t arrive. I would say just take it on the chin, even though it’s a pain, but check that all future orders have complete addresses. If they don’t, cancel them using the undeliverable address option.

We had a similar problem sometime back and now we check every order to ensure the delivery address is accurate before dispatching the order. If the address is invalid we contact the customer informing them we are unable to process their order because the delivery address is invalid. Amazon will have this on record.

Amazon will no doubt see if the customer has removed the house number from the address when they check the order history for example.

Adding the customer telephone number on courier dispatch label is proved a useful tool because the courier can contact the customer if they have difficulties locating the address or if the order is returned to the delivery office the delivery office can contact the customer.

We use several ways to check the customer delivery address postcode finder, googlemaps for international orders and some couriers have their own website which checks the delivery address.

Reading the current threads on this forum even if it had have been the full correct address, sent with full tracking and a signature you would have still lost the case.
It’s so frustrating to hear now that it is virtually impossible to win an INR case. At least on the other platform if someone opens a case and you have tracking you can actually speak to a human and they always close it in the sellers favour with no defects

Weirdly Amazon reversed a decision when i explained the item was returned with incorrect address,i explained it is impossible to deliver if they dont provide the correct address and its not my duty to go asking everyone before i send if it is correct.

VERY frustrating when ive bent over backwards trying to reverse another AtoZ that was delivered, signature proved to be the customer/scammer, gps pinpointing the doorstep of the scammer but amazon just would not budge, then i tell them returned as address in complete and they reverse AND pay for it so i even get money back for an item i have back…its utter madness.

on other platforms i get virtually no INRs no disputes nothing, its plain sailing and an easy life but here it is getting worse by the day,we all know it,they all know it, i see more and more posts of sellers just giving up and closing down and i almost envy that feeling of having all the stress and anxiety removed from selling here, everu single email the anxiety levels rise as i think “WHAT NOW?”

there was a post asking if they should set their shop on holiday mode as they were going away, i had to laugh as i know full well its not going to be a holiday,it just means they will be in another country worrying that they respond to INRs within 24hours…youll NEVER have a break.

Royal Mail will not compensate for incomplete address loss. I do not know about the others. Beware it is another Freebie hunter ploy
