HELP Needed! Brand Approval Rejection! Knowledgeable Sellers Advice Required
Hi,
This is my first time on this forum. I’m just about to start my amazon FBA journey except I have run into the impossible problem that it sounds like every seller has to go through, “Amazon Seller Support”.
I am at my wits end and I don’t know where to turn, I am trying to list my first product after many listing drafts going around and around due to error messages about almost everything.
I have requested Brand Approval and after Photos, Invoices and a lot of messages back and forth sending them everything they wanted and have asked for. They have decided on there final message:
"Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
We reviewed your application and determined that you are not eligible to sell Origin products. We evaluated the information you provided, but it did not pass our review. We apologize for any inconvenience our decision has caused you. We took this action to ensure the mutual success of our sellers and buyers on our site. This decision doesn’t necessarily reflect poorly on you or your seller account. We take a number of factors into consideration. This application does include internal checks that we are unable to divulge as doing so may compromise the application process. We value your participation and hope that you will continue to sell on Amazon.
We appreciate your understanding."
So I’m left with no reason why, after asking them they just simply sent exactly the same message again. I don’t know what I can do or if it is infact something I’m doing that is not right.
I have $3000 worth of stock waiting to be shipped as maybe I was naive enough to think that if I did everything supposedly the right way, I would have no problems.
If anyone would like to answer this or needs more info, photos. Please let me know.
Praying someone can help me out as amazon doesn’t seem to care even 1%.

Generally all you can do is re-apply at some point in the future in the hope that whatever data they looked at has changed. It isn’t unusual for Amazon to decline applications despite having the correct documents.

Is your account fully verified, and do you have permission from Origin to sell their products ?
Seller_7VbclcPFFRTnc
Are you Origin ? Or are you an authorised reseller of origin ?

Does anyone else sell the same products on Amazon already (or the same brand)?
Do you have a letter of authority from Origin to say you can sell them?
What kind of product is it?
Does your invoice exactly match all the details, do you have a business account? do the names match? does the supplier only supply to businesses and can they be verified by Amazon - website, company name etc?

So, firstly, to buy and sell for a profit you must be a business both on amazon and with hmrc before you do anything else.
I think I have misunderstood your question, you want to go for brand registry rather than brand approval to take a generic product from Alibaba (which is an instant red flag from amazon) and register it as your brand called origin? If that’s the case, I can’t really help further on that as I don’t do brand registry. However, any Alibaba based invoice must be for a proper company, must not be a commercial or pro forma invoice and must have the company name, website, details etc
You will then need to get barcodes for your product etc to be able to list them but this needs to happen after the brand registry.
I suggest you start by changing yourself and your account to a business account and then while your account is being reverified, go through seller university before you spend that amount of money on any products.

To add to recent comments and your updates, my original response was based on the assumption that you were applying to sell Origin branded products. It now seems you were trying to create your own brand.
Brand registry is the correct route for that provided you have a trademark. Amazon seem to have assumed you were wanting to list someone else’s brand hence their rejection. That in itself may mean you struggle to get a trademark since it’s a common word.

If you want to call the brand Origin then you need brand registry to do it.
Does the item have a barcode on it or have you bought one?
Is the request approval for the category rather than the product - like toys, grocery etc that need approval?

Amongst other things Origin is trademarked to Mattel and EA so you may well have problems with that name. did you get your barcode from GS1?
Just as an aside, every other seller on FBA doesnt do private label
And you really do actually need to be a registered business, do you have insurance etc?
Amazon must approve your brand before you can use it to list products. Brands should be registered through Brand Registry , but if your brand is not eligible for Brand Registry, you can obtain an exception by contacting Selling Partner Support and mentioning error code 5665.
When contacting Selling Partner Support, provide the following information:
- The brand name used when creating the listing.
- Real-world images of the product and/or packaging, showing branding on either. The images can show the product and/or packaging held in hand or placed on a table. The branding must be permanently affixed.

If you’re serious about your own brand you need to look into trademarks and do some research.
Oh and become a business before you get into trouble with both hmrc and amazon and get your account suspended

I had a problem at first with this.
If you raise another support ticket to say you’d like the brand to be ‘Origin’.
Attach photos of your product with you handling it. This must have ‘Origin’ on it, whether it’s in the logo or on the box or product somewhere. (What I did was attached a photo of the box with my logo on a table, 1 with me holding it, and 1 with my hand in front of the logo to show it was not photoshopped on.
They are annoyingly strict with this but when I did it this way, they approved it swiftly.
Mark your support ticket as urgent as you have stock waiting to ship.
I personally have found with seller support that you get a different experience each time. So often if you get the wrong outcome on one ticket, log another and you may well get the outcome you need.
If you still can’t get passed this hurdle, request a call from support so you can actually speak to someone and explain the situation.
Good luck with it all.
Many thanks
