Add fragile item packaging to inventory already with Amazon
Hello,
I am a new-ish seller trading in fragile homeware particularly ceramic tableware and glassware. I use FBA solely. I have a number of SKUs which have been selling well and with no/minimal breakage reports. I ensure my suppliers package and protect the items appropriately before shipping to Amazon.
However, one SKU has been performing very poorly with constant breakages. I found this was due to my supplier skimping on the quality of cardboard for the boxes. So, I would like FBA to add extra protection for this SKU only. I know there is an option to select this when we are sending products into Amazon warehouses, but I need to add this to units that are already with Amazon.
Is there a way to do this? Replacing broken items are costing me a lot and I cannot afford to create a removal order of 250 dinner sets weighing 8kg each!
Thank you
R

No,you have to send them in a way that eliminates potential damage.
If this sku is getting regular damage its likely Amazon will remove your listing forcing you to remove them from FBA.

It’ll be £1 for each set, balance that £250 against the loss of £xxx for damaged goods and can you afford NOT to place a removal order and repack these dinner sets?

Russ and Adrian are quite right there, you could also face an account suspension if you continue to have issues with this ASIN, that affects your metrics or Amazon receive a number of complaints about the condition of the item received.

Thanks for the replies guys, I’m going to ask the question again as I may not have been clear the first time. When you book an inbound shipment to Amazon, you have an option to check a box for each SKU requesting Amazon to provide fragile item packaging for an additional charge. Can I apply this to my SKU retrospectively as Amazon have them in their warehouse now.
@Adrian is it really £1 per unit? They are 8kg each and correct me if I am wrong but doesn’t Amazon charge a delivery charge to me for all the removed units?
