What is the best multi-channel Inventory Management Tool?

Hi All,

What software or tools are you guys using to keep track of the location of your inventory across FBA, 3rd Party warehouses and suppliers.

Im doing a VAT return and am finding it a nightmare to accurately get stock figures across the locations on a specific day.

I have heard of DEAR Inventory which also plugs into Shopify, and Unleashed, both seem overly complex and unnecessarily expensive (£200pm)

We use a Shopify app called ByteStand to sync inventory between Amazon and Shopify. It’s pretty simple to use and not too expensive.

I just use my brain. Works fine, every time… except when I forget something

Hi, I use Channel Grabber, but unfortunately, it does not manage FBA which is a complete pain as I am about to start using that and it means I will need to go back to my excel sheets for managing that stock.

I did look at Linnworks and hated it, not user-friendly and I really disliked the way the inventory was displayed on the screen. Channel Grabber is much easier to use so I have stayed with that, but if you find something that will record FBA inventory please let us know.

Ive used a few in the past but sadly there is always some feature that lets the software down. Recently i tried channel grabber but got a huge smack from them when it transpired they don’t do any trial period at all. I was looking for an all-in-one site for listing, messages and (for me) most importantly an image of an Amazon purchase on the invoice for the pickers to get the correct variation. Channelgrabber has all 3 but at a huge cost! Their messaging system was bad and they admitted that, it was unworkable with many eBay shops and amazon as well. They did have an image of the amazon product on the invoices so that was nice, but sadly the listing tool was an added £50 per month!!! I honestly didn’t see that when i signed up but they’ve acknowledged it could have been clearer. Really nice people and very helpful but i lost over £200 for a service i never used. they also refused to refund me within the 14 day cooling off period and to cancel you have to give 30 days notice, so basically you’re in for 2 months whether you like it or not. This charge was waived for me in respect to that fact that i wasn’t going to use their system however the automation upgraded my subscription because i went over 2500 orders.

Im now trialing Selro, so far it seems good and they’re quick to respond. ive had some teething issues with images not showing and so they’ve extended the trial until I’m happy…now that’s service!

Ive also tried SellerDynamics but they almost wiped out my entire listings, im still seeing listings with their logo on!

Try Selro.

We use veeqo - largely because we need FBA, ebay, shopify and - crucially - Royal Mail integration.

The core shipping stuff works pretty well but it has its fair share of bugs (especially on reporting), and the xero integration isn’t great if you were reliant on that.

I also think its overpriced too really for what we use it for however we’ve not found a viable alternative that works well and the inventory management side of it is pretty solid.

I had linnworks until they became prohibitively expensive. I was happy with them until that.

Since price was my main thing I looked for more affordable alternatives. I ended up with one stop orders but I’m really not to keen on it despite having it 2 years now. It’s meh. It mostly works, for most of the time, but it doesn’t play well with my laptop for some reason, and I’m always having to babysit to make sure it’s doing it’s job correctly, it’s very archaic.

I trialed plenty markets as my 2nd choice as the price was comparable in my particular case, but they charge a fee per order which I’m not too keen on, and it’s web only, with no desktop app. The trial went fine but i’ve not got much experience with it.

Expandly was also on my list.I found it unsuitable. the stock control there is more of an afterthought really. Maybe it’s improved since, but it didn’t have some functions I needed and it seemed to be geared towards tiny sellers who needed help creating new multichannel listings. Since I already had listings on different places, and they weren’t all identical, it wouldn’t let me link items together properly.

All in all, I’d like to go back to linnworks but the price is prohibitive since literally all I need is stock control. Really annoying as it’s just such a basic need and all I want is a basic program that does what it’s supposed to do.

Build your own, costs nothing

If you’re serious about it- and I mean really serious - I would suggest hiring a developer to work with APIs of the marketplaces and warehouse/supplier for your very own web service/dashboard channel management tool. You’ll get what you need developed to your exact spec.

The current tools and services available are far too bloated for individualised needs. Linnworks, channel grabber etc, can’t keep up with fast pace of changes on all the services they cater to on an individualistic level and end up with botching the service in haste hence the glitches etc.

With your own, you can quickly have your own tool updated and adapted as and when required.

A bit of investment but a lot to be said for the outcome - the efficiencies it will create. And… no monthly fees, when its paid for its paid for. But naturally factor in API updates and maintenance.

I don’t use one now but in the past used sellerdynamics

they are uk based and their customer service has to be the best i have ever come across … for anything as the following old thread will explain.

they have a proper telephone number and when i used them were happy to help you via a telephone call.

its worth looking at their website even if you decide to go somewhere else afterwards.

i do not use them now as my business model does not require it but if that ever changed then i would be straight back with them.

good luck with whatever you decide.
