sold book with signature confirmation and lost A-Z claim

I have beern selling for years and I'm aware that with just the tracking number it is not enough if a customer says that they didn't receive the item. We were told that we need to put signature verification or we would lose the A-Z claim. Has this policy been updated?

I had two expensive orders over $100 and I lost both of the claims.

If an Amazon representative sees this the first order is 114-6072107-5768236: This one is a bit sketchy. Customer tried to cancel after it was shipped, then asked to return as bought by mistake, then immediately filed an A-Z saying they didn't get it.

I just appealed this one so we shall see.

The second order 112-0847047-5019428 I lost the appeal. This book was over $200 and it was signed for, but the customer said they didn't get it. What more can we do with these expensive books? Should we be using Amazon Shipping service?

Should we file a case with ic3.gov anyone had any experience with this?

I too would like to see the "in writing" bit about signature confirmation. I knew what the policy once said about A to Z claims with Signature but I cannot find it now.

Previously the approach was to notify the buyer of the obtained signature and to send an attachment with the signature image with that message.

Then to refer to that buyer-seller message in your defense of a claim (since you probably cannot use an attachment in claim defense)

Could a moderator direct us to the policy on defending INR claim with Signature ?

@Quincy_Amazon

Thank you.

Whenever I get a customer telling me they didn't receive the package when they clearly did, I always say, "I'm going to check with your neighbors and will look at the security camera footage to see who took your package." Every single time they suddenly confess that they received the package. Ha!

Download a proof of delivery showing the signature. That should be enough proof.

When ever I get what looks like a phony non delivery claim, I do this:

The GPS will show Exactly where the Package was delivered to, not necessarily where it was supposed to be delivered. Therefore, the last option for finding a lost package is to call your local post office (or just go there) and ask for the GPS location scan information for the lost package.

#1 problem. Scammer. This is a common tactic used by buyers to get products for free. All the buyer has to do is call Customer Support and make up a story of about how bad a seller you are, and they get refunded on the spot. It is not a mistake. It is a well planned and executed scam that works every time. Amazon always takes the word of the buyer over the seller.

#2 problem. Scammer. Amazon does suggest getting a signature confirmation oh expensive shipments and you complied. However, if the signature on the receipt is not the same signature as the buyer who made the purchase, Amazon will not honor it. Another well calculated scam. You send a copy of the signature to the buyer, the buyer calls Customer Service and says that is not my name, and they do not know who's signature it is. Customer Service refunds on the spot.

I was just told by amazon that as long as it says delivered id be covered against A-Z claims. Wonder what the actual policy is.

Always follow up by stating to the customer that you will be contacting the shipping service to track the package up to the point of delivery. All shipping services use devises that ping at every juncture in the delivery. We use USPS, which is still very reliable when it comes to ascertaining the reality of delivery status. Granted, some postmasters are touchy. But, in the end, it is their job to make sure the sacred trust is upheld.

I'm pretty sure signature doesn't matter anymore; you need to buy your shipping labels through Amazon for any protection.

I do believe the policy has changed as I cannot find any reference to signature confirmation being a protection for sellers.
