Read onlyHi All,
We have been doing FBM for 2-3 months using only Royalmail tracked 24. Our ontime delivery metrics continues to get hit every few weeks. With advice from another seller I removed remote areas in the UK from our premium delivery option (Scottish highlands, Channel Islands etc), however this has not made much difference. I have noticed Royalmail is for us is the underlying problem with 6-8% of our tracked 24 being delivered in 2 days. I am well aware now that RM's Tracked 24 is not a guaranteed next day.
Now, my trouble is what am I missing here, because other sellers are happily offering next day delivery and even doing SFP. RM obviously is not the one, DHL and DPD seems expensive in comparison. Who are others using to get good shipping cost for premium delivery?
Any recommendations is highly appreciated.
6-8% of Tracked 24 being delivered in 2 days is wrong. How is your mail being sent, is it on RM account or is it pay as you go?
The majority of my Tracked 24 is delivered the next working day. Only the very occasional one is not delivered the next day, If most of yours is not being delivered the next working day you need to work out why. When is the first RM scan happening it should be the same night as you despatch.
You are right to remove certain regions I only offer Wales and England for premium shipping to minimise the risk.
My biggest problem is that I don't have enough premium volume to allow for just a single error. I have been removed from premium shipping today as just one order was not delivered on time....it happens to a lot of sellers now and again.
I'm with @Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn with this one. It's really unusual for T24 or even ordinary 1st Class not be delivered next day, even to Mainland Scotland and NI.
I've always been pleasantly surprised how good RMs 1st class services perform, considering I'm about as far South-East as is possible.
We get hit by ODR every month. We appeal, sometimes Amazon give us back premium delivery, other times they do not. We also don't have enough premium volume on Amazon to allow for a single error.
If we despatch on time with the correct service, then for some reason Royal Mail (or whatever courier used) is delayed or the buyer is not home, Amazon penalises the seller.
The only thing that is in the sellers control in all this, is despatching on time with correct service, beyond that is out of our control, yet we, the sellers get punished for it. Another absolutely ridiculous policy by Amazon.
The whole premium delivery eligibility requirements are utter nonsense and are of no actual benefit to anyone.
