Request approval to sell clothing

Hi,

I wish to sell brand name clothing on amazon, but cants seem to work out how to request approval to do so.

I made sure I adhered to all amazons regulations. But when I get too the selling applications page I dont know what to do. I just want clothing as a whole to be approved.

Please help

Not my category, but I believe as well as needing approval to sell in the clothing category, I guess you will also need permission from the various brands you wish to sell - some may not allow you to sell their brands on Amazon.

The best help I can give you is - don’t.

I have many “Amazon seller friends” and most have tried the clothing section at one time or another and all have stopped selling clothing because of returns. They were selling 100 items and getting 95 back - literally! One of the chaps who did the best still had in excess of 50% returned and all seller funded returns too. A great deal of the stuff came back smelling of perfume or with tears or even mud!

Weddings and Hen Do’s in particular were a favourite for the clothing rental schemes.

If you do go ahead you seriously have to factor in the huge amount of returns into your profit margins.

Good luck

Steer clear. Forced free returns for fulfilled by merchant orders means buyers more likely to order three sizes and your returns go through the roof.

We sell exclusively clothing and our returns rate is under 5%.

We’ve had people ordering multiple sizes then returning the ones that don’t fit maybe 3 times in the last 5 years. About Maybe twice that amount in items returned that had been used for purpose and the buyer was trying it on.

If people are getting these crazy figures that some are suggesting then the either listings are set up wrong, the product is on the wrong listing, or the product quality is really bad.
