Amazon offering good will refund and deducting their goodwill from my account

My buyer has returned and item with a reason code of 'no longer needed'

I have no issue with that and the buyer was refunded by me as soon as the item arrived back at my warehouse. The buyer arranged the return. The refund I made was for the price paid for the goods, no shipping refund.

Today I have had notification from amazon that they have issued a 'Goodwill/Return Shipping Cost Refund' £20.

I have zero goodwill towards this buyer so why am i covering the cost of the return shipping for a return with a reason code of no longer needed?

any thoughts?

I would agree. Was it outside of the Prepaid Return Label sytem?

Not that that should really matter - if the customer decided to send it in a gold lined envelope via horse drawn carriage - at the end of the day that was there choice.

I'm unsure from your post how the refund was achieved - but you should appeal/managingdirector/letter before action on this one.

In fairness to Amazon they have refunded my account after I opened a safe-T claim.
