Razor Blade Scraper Listing Blocked Despite Compliance with UK & Amazon Policy
We’re facing a frustrating issue with our razor blade scraper listing on Amazon UK. It has been automatically marked as requiring approval and subsequently blocked under “concealed blades” or “product requires approval” policies. However, our scraper is fully compliant with UK legislation and Amazon guidelines:
- Blade Design: The razor blade is permanently enclosed, exposing less than 2 mm of the cutting edge.
- Age Verification (Knife Flag): We have proactively added the “knife flag” requirement to ensure age checks, even though our product technically qualifies under the exceptions.
- Seller Support Responses: We are receiving repetitive, automated replies that don’t address the specifics of our case. It seems like the system might be misidentifying our scraper as a restricted item.
We’ve already checked all relevant guidelines—especially around the Offensive Weapons Act 2019—and we see many nearly identical new products actively selling on Amazon UK. Yet our listing remains blocked with no clear resolution from Seller Support.
Has anyone else experienced similar blockages with razor blade scrapers or similarly compliant products? We’ve tried opening multiple cases, providing images, explaining the product’s design, and citing Amazon’s own policy, but each time we receive templated emails that don’t reflect our actual listing details.
Any guidance from fellow sellers or escalation help from Amazon staff would be greatly appreciated. We just want our fully compliant product reinstated.
Thank you in advance!
@Julia_Amzn @Winston_Amazon @Maja_Amazon — any help getting this escalated to the correct team would be amazing.
Thank you!

In recent days, I have encountered the same issue with multiple ASINs and have manually marked them with "uk_18_knife." I seem to have tried various case submissions to restore sales, but all I received were responses from a bot. The only useful information I found was in the seller forum: https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/seller-forums/discussions/t/687f5e76-c36f-40c2-a8bf-1e8ee953638d?postId=95ca8adb-eca4-4ce5-bd6e-e41c85f15750. It seems that only @Roberto_Amazon may have a relevant solution.

Hi @Roberto_Amazon
I’m reaching out in hopes you might be able to assist with a case we’ve been struggling to resolve. One of our ASINs has been permanently gated, and despite multiple communications with Seller Support and the Escalation Team, we have not been provided with a clear explanation as to why this decision was made.
The only reasoning we’ve received is vague references to “supply chain authenticity risks,” which doesn’t seem to apply in our situation. We’ve asked repeatedly for a specific policy reference or more detailed reasoning but have been told no further information can be provided.
The Case ID for this matter is 10719200412. If there’s any way you can review this case or point us in the right direction, we would greatly appreciate your help.
Thank you for your time!

Hello, we received a response, unfortunately I will not be able to assist with reinstatement of the ASIN. At the moment there is no extra path.
Thinking as work-around, maybe, my advice for you will be to try to sell it under FBA to see if they give you the same restrictions, sometimes it works.
