Do you include a thank you note?

Recently, sellers were discussing how to increase product reviews from customers. One suggestion was to include a thank you note in each order. So, my question to you is, do you include a thank you note in your orders?

I do include a thank you note, but it’s actually meaningless. For basic essential products like innerwear, people are less inclined to share reviews. They typically only leave reviews when they are disappointed, expressing their frustration. Otherwise, they simply ignore it. The only way most sellers get many reviews is by bribing customers with cashback offers. This disadvantages genuine, honest sellers who keep their prices low and don't bribe buyers for reviews. I know a few brands/sellers that even offer ₹100 cashback for a single ₹349 innerwear vest for men, and those products have more than 40k reviews. This practice is not only unethical but also cheats buyers. I hate buying reviews with ₹20-₹50 cashback; instead, I keep the prices low and genuinely request buyers to share their feedback if they like my products. This helps us understand how we are doing. But Amazon doesn't reward this approach. I believe Amazon should consider that no reviews mean the product is satisfactory and count it as a 4-star rating. Please consider my perspective. This change would benefit all honest sellers trying to expand their businesses ethically.

We do include operation instructions, but Thank You note didn't occur to our team. Now we would.

We do include a Thank You note but do not ask for review.
Reviews in India are mostly negative biased. In foreign ecom markets, reviews are left for future buyers looking to buy the product. Here it is different- buyers do not bother to provide positive review, if satisfied. But do come with long post and negative review, if not satisfied. Hence, asking for review is risky.

Thank you note has a high potential to turn the Amazon's ecosystem poisonous by brands adding content which is un-moderated. It will be hard for Amazon to control what the brands/sellers are writing on the notes because it won't be as transparent as the internet content.
Amazon should introduce pop-up options like on cab/food apps people get option to leave quick ratings by simply a tap of button. Many products do not require detailed reviews as they all aren't technical. If this is done, customers will bring in the right balance to the ratings between satisfied/non-satisfied buyers. This will eliminate 'only complaint based reviews' system. It is the harsh reality that frustrated customers don't see a complaint button and ultimately leave their feedback for the products assuming that it will be resolved through this option, and satisfied customer don't have any reason to engage their time in writing reviews. The amazon's return option solves the purpose to get a refund but not the frustration.I have heard of many brands removing their products from Amazon because their products became more associated to negative customer feedbacks.

Create a 'reply to review' option. Allow sellers to respond to product reviews publicly. You do this and you will boost overall Amazon sales immensely. Customers will understand feedback better, understand seller's issues better and buy more products immediately instead of browsing and getting scared away by a couple of negative reviews.
