can't update attributes of my own brand ASIN

Hi,

I am the brand owner, the only user in the brand registry and the only seller of my brand products.

I can't properly manage my listings and update information when needed. It becomes a real nightmare with endless communication with the support saying that 'the attribute I would like to update for this ASIN has already been claimed by another representative of the brand'. Trying to explain that there is no other brand representative is just a waste of time.

I am asking for a support of other sellers who encountered this situation and from Amazon support team browsing this forum who could escalate this to the responsible team (one of my latest case IDs for these issues is ID 14013494111).

Thank you!

we are in the same position. We manufacture the products and own the Brand, are Brand registered but cannot change many of our products. Have given up on many of our products and only sell on other sites.

Walmart is great as far as this aspect is concerned.

As our communication with Amazon support evolved they told me that there are 4 brand representatives including myself. Then another round of back and forth messages trying to get to know who are these mysterious 'brand representatives' and where can I see them. Support says I need to check the users in my brand registry - I'm telling them that I am the only user with the screen shot as a proof, and then we start again from the beginning with new endless discussion that 'the attributes are claimed by another representatives of the brand' and that I need to agree changes with them... Nonsense.

Interesting that there are so many discussions about this, even dated a couple of years ago. And still there are no solutions.

Meanwhile I still can't update my product images, wring images are shown and it's misleading the consumers and impacting our sales negatively

Do you receive an error message? does it have a link or error code?

If you don't receive error with code number , please try and create a new listing and see if it says you are not authorized to create for the brand, that will give you an error code number and a link, that would help in solving the problem, once you click on the link follow the instructions and fill out the information, that will go to the correct department that knows how fix the problem

If you need help with that, let me know.

The problem you are facing with customer service is you need to reach the correct department to solve the problem. other department have no clue how to solve this problem.

Good Luck

We are in the same boat, and if you need to edit anything use the templates that can be generated from upload inventory. Pick the general one for your category, fill in as much information as you can (see the edit inventory tab and fill out everything in there to the template) and upload. If it doesn't take, make sure all your SKU data is already populated to the template and delete it. Let it sit for a couple of hours (we do this near midnight) and upload it again. I know it sounds scary, but don't worry your SKU won't disappear, it just won't appear in your listing but it is still very well alive in the Amazon system.

The inventory file will save your life, I suggest creating a bunch of master templates for your products and just update/upload as needed.

This has solved most of my issues, hope this helps.

I recently had the similar issue. And it kept looping me to fill out application to approve to sell under my Brand. I ended up calling and within 24 hours it seems to be letting me list normally again- fyi

I am also a brand registry seller and your problem is something we have to go through frequently. It is a nightmare to find a support person who can read the case and decide to help, sometimes it takes weeks.

My last problem is Amazon changing the categorization of my products generating errors (8541 - more common) between Child and Parent and forcing me to fix it without giving any further info or reason why they are doing that.

It's really upsetting because makes us waste so much time.

Try to be patient and good luck!

Hi this may be irrelevant, but I had the same issue earlier in the year. It kept telling me that I needed permission from the brand owner (me) to list or edit a product listing. After going back and forth with Amazon reps. to no avail, I just happened to look at my account info. and noticed a flag indicating that I had not fully completed account verification. Once I did that everything was okay.
