Another fraudulent A-Z Claim and improper refund/defect

Hello. I am seeking a Mod's intervention and assistance in removing the A-Z defect from my account, and reimbursing me for this order which has an A-Z Claim that inappropriately faults me resulting in a loss of the cost of the item, and an inappropriate Order Defect on my account.

Buyer purchased this item from us on October 19th, 2024. The 45day return window came and went, and Buyer opened an A-Z claim for this order on December 26th, 2024 which is 68 days after the purchase date, and 63 days after the delivery date. It is worth noting that this order was placed on October 19th, and is not eligible for the extended Holiday return window which started for purchases placed on and after November 1st (reference: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/seller-forums/discussions/t/1a4c5140-4d48-4fe9-90a6-903c06cbd34a).

The item was delivered one day after the "Deliver By" date on the order, but it was shipped on time with Amazon shipping, and is covered by OTDR protection.

The A-Z claim is... sketchy at best. I believe that this was probably purchased as a present for Christmas, and it didn't fit so they had to return it but the return window had passed. So they had to make up basically anything to try to get their money back.

The A-Z claim was opened on December 26th, and I was given until December 30th to respond to the claim. This does not make much sense because the customer was seeking a return/refund for an item that was out of it's return window.

The return was delivered yesterday, January 17th 2025. It is destroyed and is unsellable. All original packaging and tags have been removed and the item must either be donated or disposed of.

I am unable to file a Safe-T claim for this item because there is an A-Z claim associated with the order.

At this point I have appealed the A-Z claim. I would like the Mod's assistance in removing this A-Z Order Defect from my account and recovering any funds from this fraudulent return.
