Close Seller Account & Final Payment

My Amazon seller account got deactivated a few months ago and I have no active listing anymore.

I want to close it permanently and receive a final payment of my account balance. I reached out to Amazon Help team but I did not get any helpful response at all. I only received a standardized message saying how I could appeal the deactivation, which I am not interested in. I want to close my account and not activate it again.

I did submit a request to close my account but received that the status would be "blocked" because my account is not active. Again, I am not interesting in using my account. I only want to close it permanently and get a final payment. Thanks!

Any suggestions?

You cannot close an account that is not in good standing. If it is deactivated, you will need to appeal and get it activated again before you can close it.

If you were deactivated for IP complaints (including dropshipping), then you will not see your funds nor FBA inventory released until you resolve the complaint.

The concern with the situation is, any account that is currently experiencing a deactivation will not be eligible for closure. This can be confirmed under step 6 of our account closure policy:

  • Check your Performance notifications to make sure that all the reasons for your account's suspension have been resolved and your account is restored.

This is very likely why you were offered support on reactivation as these go hand in hand. Surrounding the concern of funds, why was the account deactivated? If this was associated to concerns of intellectual properties, or authenticity funds will likely be held until the issue has been properly disputed, if you are experiencing a situation related to illegal or potentially fraudulent activity, funds cannot be released. You can verify this information on our funds withholding policy. If your issue is unrelated to these concerns, you can email the team mentioned in this policy page to request funds. Please also note that funds are held for a minimum of 90-days after being deactivated, when exactly were you deactivated?

  • If we find that you have engaged in deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, have abused our systems, or repeatedly violated our policies that protect our customers and sellers, we may withhold some or all funds in your account. Examples of deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activities include, but are not limited to: falsifying or misrepresenting your identity, violating Amazon’s anti-counterfeit policy, or submitting forged documents to Amazon.

Find the suspension notice and POST THAT but remove all personal information first.

Anyone answering will need to see what wording they used and what they are asking for.

If it is a Section 3 violation for dropshipping anyone responding needs to see the language to determine if it included the 'death sentence' wording.

Were there other issues such as IP violations, RA, OR, you used a Virtual Assistant and they 'helped' you with paperwork and forged documents?

NOTE -- If it was for IP, RA, OA or dropshipping you will NOT get the products or the money in your account back because you have no chain of custody and proof of authenticity.
