Interesting re-gating of branded items

We’ve been selling branded fashion for over 8 years on Amazon.

Two brands that we have been selling on for years have now become partially become re-gated.

What I mean by this is that we are now being asked to become ungated for $BRAND. Basically just a $ dollar sign in front of the brand name.

Many of our current existing ASINs are still fine to sell but any new ASIN for that same brand seems to be re-gated. It’s as if Amazon is treating this large brand as 2 different brands altogether.

I thought perhaps someone has mis-created this brand when creating the product but its wide spread and affecting pretty much all new ASINS for that brand that we are trying to add.

As anyone come across the $ re-gate issue?

We have applied to become ungated once again for this brand and it has been accepted in all EU marketplaces except for UK which they rejected.

Seems like an illogical thing to have occured
