A good move by Royal Mail but until Amazon recognise delivery confirmation numbers for standard 24/48 there are always going to be buyers who insist it hasn’t been delivered (ok there are occasions where it can happen)

Interesting. Proper couriers have been doing this for donkeys years. What services does this work for? Signed unsigned? Tracked 24/48 or 1st/2nd?

Problem is the map that RM are using is rubbish and does not show house numbers. If you copy and paste the RM co-ordinates into Google Maps it will generate a house number.
I’ve had this issue this weekend where a customer was claiming not delivered but the tracking shows it was (standard RM24 service). The co-ordinates show delivered to a house 2 doors away. OK so in this instance it was country lane with spaced out house don’t know how accurate it would be in a terraced row!

One problem that I have found is that the tracking confirmation is done when the driver gets back to the van or when the postie gets back to his wheeled trolley. The last GPS location I followed up on was located in the middle of a road junction. Not a lot of use.
