Newly created account deactivated, After creation- Payment charged

Created new seller account, my intention is to advertise and sell on UK marketplace only, however after initially approving I got warning that account is deactivated and asked for more information.

When I submitted more information, received reply that I must make video appointment to complete verification.

The instruction asked me to follow a provided link and select US as marketplace, despite the fact your main marketplace is not US.
The link never gave me the option for video meeting, but I received message that I can now sell in US, Canada and Mexico.

But in my UK marketplace my account is still shown as deactivated.
I submitted more messages to appeal but no response. Over a week now since I am waiting.

Amazon have already charged me money, now sure for what as my account is still not available to sell.

I would be very grateful if someone advise why is this happening and how to resolve it.

It used to take months to set up a new account, not sure if its still taking that long.

You would be advised to downgrade your selling plan (not to be confused with your account type) to individual from professional - it is the professional account that is charging you and it is not related in any way to your account verification. It usually works out more beneficial (financial wise) when you sell about 30 items a month to pay £30 for the professional plan rather than 90p for each item on the individual plan. Note there are other benefits to the professional plan along with you being able to view reports and set your own shipping etc. None of which you need until your account is fully verified and ready to go.

As above post - you will have signed up for the professional Selling PLAN, and also as advised you would be as well downgrading until youa re able to sell, so that no more fees are charged.
Go to settings - Account Info - Your services - Manage.

Also be aware, that the Professional Selling Plan is NOT the same as a Business Seller Account (the legal entity) - many new sellers are confused by this and make the mistake of signing up for an Individual Seller Account which is ONLY for selling off personal, second-hand items which have belonged to and used by yourself, such as CDs,DVDs.Books etc.

The problem is there is no point of contact from Amazon, seems like everything is being dealt by robots (AIs).
Bellow is what I am seeing on my seller account:

I submitted required information in “Appeal” over a week ago and then sent follow up email to find out where things are, but no response at all.

Do I need to keep waiting or is there anyone from Amazon who can help resolving this issue.

I’m having the same issue. Made an account towards the end of November then was asked to schedule a video appointment via the US marketplace even though I just want to sell in the UK. So when I attempt to do that I get an error, and going through the link again won’t work. Can’t do anything in the US marketplace now because my credit card is invalid there, and I’ve messaged Amazon through the appeal in the UK marketplace on the 1st of December regarding this. However I’ve still not heard back from them.

I’ve also just downgraded my plan now for the time being as this process is probably going to take longer than I expected.

Do we know what time line Amazon is working with for verification. Is there any examples, as presently it is like travelling in space with no destination.

Reminders or submitting additional information or messages are not getting any replies.

try emailing managingdirector@amazon.co.uk. Sometimes they dont reply but your issues gets resolved in the background. For example i had a violation for a listing and i had to edit the title to fix it, however since they removed the listing i could not edit it. I changed the title with a flat file however the changes did not go through. I submitted an appeal as is as a hail mary and they refused it. I emailed them and seller performance team explaining the issue and after about 12 days i get an email saying my appeal has been accepted even though i did not submit additional information.
