Read onlyHi Guys
My situation is as follows
Non UK resident live in Ireland and operate my Amazon business from Northern Ireland Via a LTD company which has been vat registered since 2021 and vat paid every quarter to HMRC
FBA only business
I travel to My business address in Northern Ireland (parent home address) to deal with inbound FBA shipments/prep but only operate small business so i don't have employees so unable to provide evidence of employment.
Its looks like I be deemed not established in UK for Vat
I have no issue with amazon collecting VAT on my sales going forward as I am paying it anyway but concerned amazon demand for back payment of Vat since 2021 when it has already been paid by my company?
Anyone in same situation regarding this Vat issue? Does Amazon expect us to pay Vat twice?
Disbursements due to be locked in week or so!
Any advice is welcome
Thanks
Paddy
Hello @Seller_buioRKpJA71OS,
This is Abella from Amazon, reaching out to help you with your query.
We greatly appreciate you reaching out with your inquiry. Rest assured, we are committed to putting forth our utmost efforts to assist you with your query.
From January 1, 2021, Amazon will be responsible for collecting UK VAT on the following sales of goods delivered to customers in the UK where ordered through any Amazon storefront.
Amazon will calculate and collect UK VAT from the customer at checkout and remit this directly to the UK Tax Authorities. You will not receive the UK VAT amount in your disbursements and will not be required to remit these amounts to the UK Tax Authorities.
Please visit the help page for further information "UK VAT on e-Commerce (UK VOEC) Legislation – 2021".
If you qualify for UK establishment: Please submit the necessary documentation. Our review process will be completed within 3 days. Upon verification of your UK establishment, your Amazon sales proceeds will become eligible for disbursement according to your disbursement schedule, typically within 24 hours.
If you do not meet the UK establishment criteria: Confirm that you are not established in the UK. In this scenario, documentation submission is not required, but you will need to resolve any outstanding VAT payments.
Regards,
Abella.
