I was forced to turn on this crappy AHT setting by Amazon to be protected from late deliveries, but AHT is setting ridiculously long handling times. Prior to AHT, I had most my of items set for 2 or 3 business day handling times. I never ship late, often times I ship early, and Amazon is setting the AHT for many of these items to be 5 to 6 days now. Why? They never take anywhere near that long to ship. I was fearful that AHT would make me ship items quicker than I could, but they seem to be doing the opposite, telling buyers many items will take much, much longer to ship than it will actually take. For instance, I have an ASIN with an average time to fill at 2 days (which includes weekends). AHT value: 6 days. Why in the world is the AHT setting so darn high? All of a sudden, most of my items are now telling buyers they will take 5 to 6 days to ship which is total nonsense. This of course cuts down on sales for me and commissions for Amazon. If only I could just set my handling times to what makes sense per ASIN, but no, Amazon insists for me to be covered in case a package is late that they have to figure it out, and then they do an absolutely horrible job of doing so.
