No suitable category /Missing categories when adding a new product
Hello all, I have only just signed up to Amazon as a seller and I am trying to sell some products I have imported (have been doing on ebay for a while), but I don’t seem to be able to find the specific category that the other similar products are listed under.
I can see that similar products are listed here in this category - Fancy Dress and Accessories -> Accessories -> Weapons -> Swords, but this category was not available when I tried to add my products.
I have already followed Amazon suggestion and registered on GS1 to get my GTINs, but stuck on finding the suitable category.
Could someone advise what is it that I have to do to have access to the full list of categories on Amazon please ?

Did you select toys & games first? I can follow the chain to the category you’re wanting.

Some categories you have to get approval for - I believe toys and game is one

Thanks for the reply. I guess it must be something to do with my new account set up then.
I did realise that Amazon has a lot more rules and regulations, so I am committed to make this work.
It seems a little bit strange that some categories are not available to new sellers, you can’t exactly list items in a wrong category simply because the right one is not available?

What does a “normal” status say once the account has been verified?
