Account deactivated because of inauthentic claim.

Hello everyone,

My account has been deactivated due to an inauthentic claim. Amazon has requested that I provide invoices. I have sent them to Amazon, but they were not accepted.

Could someone or any Amazon Support assist me with answering these two questions?

- My shipping address matches the information on my account, but the billing address is different. Is this acceptable?

- The invoices provided by the supplier are missing some information such as address and phone number. Can I add this information as a note in a separate document and send it to Amazon?

Thank you for your help.

I understand your account has been deactivated due to the authenticity of your products.

As buyers trust that they will always be able to purchase quality, authentic items, Amazon holds product authenticity in high regard. Other than the buyer expectations, authenticity is also viewed as intellectual property due to the high level of seriousness and everything that entails maintaining authenticity of a brand or product.

There are specific requirements which invoices must meet. These are copies of invoices, receipts or other similar documents that demonstrate where your products are produced or manufactured. These documents:

  • Should reflect the sales volume of your product across all Amazon marketplaces in the last 365 days
  • Should demonstrate your product’s full supply chain
  • Should include contact information for the supplier(s) and the original manufacturer. We may contact suppliers or manufacturers to verify the documents
  • Your documents should be able to trace your products to the original manufacturer even if you did not purchase them directly from the original manufacturer. This may require requesting additional invoices or supply chain documentation from your supplier if you are not sourcing directly from the manufacturer.
  • You may remove pricing information, but the rest of the document must be visible to enable adequate review of the documents you provide. For ease of our review, you may highlight or circle the ASIN(s) under review.

Depending on the specific reason for the deactivation, or if you have one for the brand in question, you may want to submit a letter of authorization or licensing agreement. The scope of license must also be specified in terms of the field and territory of use of the license. If grant of license includes right to ‘sublicensing’, the same must be specified in the agreement. The right to sub-license can be for all or some of the rights being licensed.

The five key terms which must be present in every IP licensing agreement submitted to Amazon are:

  • 'Licensor'–The company/brand providing the rights to intellectual property
  • 'Licensee'–The company/brand receiving the rights to use the intellectual property.
  • ‘Grant’–The intellectual property being licensed and the scope of rights granted
  • ‘Geographic Scope’–The specific territory or territories where use is authorized (may be worldwide)
  • ‘Term’–The duration of the authorization (may be perpetual)

If you would like more information, please provide the performance notification you received when the account was deactivated. This enables the Forums community and I to assist to the best of our ability.

All the best,

Stevie

Hello @Seller_2dT52321zH8zZ,

Thank you for providing more information about your account deactivation for us to review.

From the performance notification you have posted, your account was deactivated for inauthentic complaints for products you sell. The way to resolve any authenticity complaints, is to prove the products authenticity by submitting the requested documents that meet our document requirements.

I have all the information to prove: Invoices, tracking information, email confirmation, documents to prove authorization for the sale of that Brand from the Supplier, and the total quantity on invoices corresponding to all the shipment quantities I have sent to Amazon...

- The shipping address on the invoices matches the business address on my account. But some invoices have billing addresses with different (because of some invoices I have used another credit card for payment).

- The original form from my supplier invoices does not meet all requirements from Amazon (missing a few information), Can I attach documents for that information?

You mentioned that you have the requested documents yet there may be some pieces of required information that are missing or information that may be mismatched. If the documents you submit do not meet the requirements, the submission will be denied until all of the requested information has been provided and they meet the document requirements.

I suggest to present the documents that best match the document requirements (invoices, tracking information, email confirmation) and also the letter of authorization (LOA) from the supplier. You can submit additional supporting documents as well. Also, you can double check the LOA with the requirements above before you submit it.

To submit the documents for review, find the "your account has been deactivated" banner at the top of your seller central page and select the "reactivate your account button" There will be a spot where you can drag and drop the requested documents and you may need to acknowledge that the documents you are submitting meet the requirements.

I hope you find this information helpful and please feel free to post updates or further questions in this thread so we can best assist you.

Wishing you the best,

LeviDylan
