Error GTIN listing product
Hello,
I'm about to list my first product and I have an issue when i'm entering GTIN purchased on GS1.
Im getting "The value specified is invalid" even if I use 12,13,14 digits form and I also bought another GTIN and still not working. I entered correct information.

1. Why it happened?
- In the past, when Amazon was in its early years, if a seller who wanted to list their own product, they just made up a UPC number. Or, the seller bought random numbers from a UPC scalper on eBay. Amazon did not check UPC's at the time, so sellers could get away with it.
2. Why you hit the road block.
- Now you come along with a valid GS1 UPC and find out the UPC is already being used on Amazon. Amazon has no desire in removing the millions of fake UPC's already associated to a product sold on the site. Amazon would likes their continued commission more than so than dropping the product.
3. How to correct the situation?
- Send your ownership documentation by certified mail to Amazon's Legal office in Seattle. State the ASIN that is being infringed upon with the illegal use of your GS! UPC. Give them about two weeks to resolve, and the situation will be corrected.
