Trading on Amazon for a long time and at one point turning over circa £750k pa but due to payment changes and margin erosion we are leaving. Amazon are buying from the same suppliers and wholesalers as we are and due to all the undercutting and negative margin sales by Amazon we have pulled the account. Its a real shame as its been good most of the time (as you know dealing with Amazon generally and seller support is often a challenge) but off to concentrate on new opportunities. Best of luck all.
Good luck for the future, I wont be far behind you
Charges are beyond belief now and enough is enough fed up if my account is going to suspended even though I give the best customer service I can.
Dear Indigo_Ink_Home_Offi,
Thank you for sharing your news. After 14 years of trading on Amazon, it’s clear that we 've had a significant journey. We are in a similar situation here and, like you, we’re doing our best to hold on until next September despite the challenges.
I just wanted to wish you the best of luck in the days ahead. I’m sure you’ll find new opportunities that suit you well. And remember, if you ever need support or advice, don’t hesitate to reach out on the seller forums—there are always a lot of new and seasoned sellers around to offer insights and help if needed .
Most importantly, take care of yourself, and I hope everything works out for you in the future.
Best regards,
Smart Fashion
Its sad to see how a giant like Amazon is destroying so many small businesses. Amazon is a partner and a competitor at the same time which means they always have the edge. I've heard numerous stories of Amazon buying from same suppliers and we've no choice but to share this info with them when they request an invoice!
Good luck with all your future endeavours.
Best of luck. We will soon be joining you. £250k+ annual sales and now erroded any profit to virtually nothing + endles hours wasted daily sorting Amazon's incompetance and useless systems. Amazon has destroyed UK small business on the high street and is now doing the same on their platform. I wish TEMU would let UK companies sell on their platform.
We have been selling since 2004 and were in at the beginning, more or less. Agree with everything you have said.
They are pushing everyone out by selling the same things. Time to go, once we have sold the last of our stock that will be us too.
Good Luck
You aren't alone. Pre-Brexit we had annual sales of close to £3m. But as 75% of our business was/is EU, we have tried to see out Brexit and hope that the pendulum swings back in our favour. Unfortunately it has not and we will be closing up come the end of the year. Sad times for our little company and it's 6.5 employees.
It's been a roller-coaster!
Amazon buy from wholesalers? I would have thought they buy everything directly from the brand? Surely?
Sounds like Amazon has throttled your business and stolen your customers. It's what they are all about.
Best wishes! - I'm thinking the same, and it is shockingly sad that so are so many other sellers. Amazon couldnt care less. They cripple people financially, emotionally and mentally. I've lost my health and sanity trying to communicate with seller 'support' teams and navigate through an AU (Artificially-Unintelligent) setting where the bots get most things horribly wrong with nothing you can do about it.
Good luck to you, and congratulations for breaking free :)
Why would you wish to be associated with a company that is clearly a purveyor of cheap tat
