Return... Reason wrong item received

Hi All,

Not sure how to go about this, customer contacted amazon and amazon contacted us initially to state wrong item received, we messaged them back asking what they have received and to send a picture, customer hasn’t responded to us and has gone back to amazon and we just received the below, we have now said to open a returns request, however it’s all a bit suspect.

We have sent an item delivered and signed for by the customer, however we know that the item is the correct one as we take pictures of the item and delivery label when attached, so not sure if this is someone wanting a free returned or to try and send something else back in it’s place.

Reason for contact: received wrong item

Details: The customer dont have a any android phone or camera to take a picture to the item an please give covenient to the customer so tha they can concern will be sorted out or the wants to pivk thge item on there behalf and please send a rma so that the customer can return trhe item.

This could be a scam email, don’t click on links. TERRIBLE English/grammar.
If it is a genuine email from Amazon it will be on your seller account homepage in messages.

I would say that you need to get back to Amazon and, as they obviously have contact with the customer, to ask them to ask your customer what item you are supposed to have sent.
This is one occasion where I would be using the customer’s phone number ! - and put them on the spot !

Looks like a phishing email to me. I only answer questions through Amazon messages. Raise a case with Amazon SS over it.

I know I am generalising, but when customers contact Amazon rather than the seller, as in this case, repeatedly, my spidey senses tingle.

If you go into your Amazon order, you are offered the following option buttons.

Contact seller
File/View claim
Return or Replace Items
Share gift receipt
Leave seller feedback
Write a product review
Hide Order

So Contact Seller is my the second option.

So I’ll ignore that and" File/View claim " on my latest order.

This is what I get.

You can’t file an A-to-Z Guarantee claim at this time.

So, even there after " File Claim ", Amazon are still directing the buyer to the Seller.

Yet they are contacting Amz using a button that says " about problems that don’t involve the seller "

When they " run to mummy " rather than dealing with you as a reasaonable adult, my spidey senses tingle

It looks like one scam email.

Can you find the order ID in that email?

I think not. So it’s one scam email. Maybe your store never sell android phone or camera. ^^

HI All,

It is linked to a product we have sold, it’s a large bulky item and send in the manufacturer box, so the model number is plain to see on the box.

In regards to android phone or camera, the customer was stating they had neither to be able to take a picture.

It is very suspect in the digital age, that they have no access either themselves or someone else to a device that can take a picture and we have asked them twice what they have received, with no response.

We have done a stock count and we have the correct amount of items, so the only scenario would be if we shipped this customers item to someone else and he received the other customers, if that had happened we would have two customers complaining.

So i feel either this is a scam of some sort or the customer no longer wants the item and a free return.

Customer messaged back as we asked them to open a returns request I’ve just had the below again, i have removed the order number.

Customer has still ignored our question of what they have received and to open a returns request.

Hello,

Product is worth £200.00

All serial numbers are tracked from manufacturer to distributor to reseller

So if they send me another product back, i would just use the serial number to find out if this was sold into me.

It’s not overly hard to prove.

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago - A random person stated that they had purchased an item, that it was the wrong item sent and they demanded a refund. If I didn’t refund they would leave very bad feedback.

Seeing that they presented a link, which I didn’t click on to - Phising scam, virus, adware scam etc. I then searched through every order against the name of this person - To find no orders. I politely asked them to send a message through the order as there is means to send messages that way.

I’ve now been waiting 4 weeks for this follow up message from them and the bad feedback - I guess these scammers will try anything once

Just an update, asked the buyer to open a returns request from his orders page on 31st August, never heard anything.

Buyers now again contacted amazon and they have once again asked the below, with my response being buyer needs to open a returns request again.
