Reply to performance notification

hi guys

my account is suspended.

i got 2 performance notifications from amazon asking me whether i want to keep or close my account.

i want to close my account

the only problem is i cannot reply to the performance notification because you can only do this from your email but i did not get an email.

you can only close an active account as amazon view a suspended account as effectively closed are there any funds in your account?

i assume this is in relation to your previous post. As I understand it you were registered as a sole proprietor, but said that was a mistake. Is that correct? just trying to get some context

So you were suspended for selling new items when trading on an individual account - amazon believe you should be a business
I’m not 100% sure what happens to your funds held when this us the case - I’m not sure if amazon liaise with hmrc or just release it after 90 days

yeah basically i am an individual seller but they told put down as sole proprietor .

id rather just cancel the account now and get my funds

So heres my thoughts.

They are asking if you…

From your last post you seem to indicate that you accidentally registered as a sole proprietor. Other sellers were trying to help you but you never answered the question as to what you were selling in order to establish what type of account you should have

If you are/were selling your own used, no longer wanted, personal items - as used - then you only need an individual account and Amazon, see above are allowing you to do that

If you are buying items (books in your case) to sell on for a profit then you need to be registered as a business account.

Amazon are also saying that you can close your account, if you do that I am not sure whether it may be more difficult to re-open in the future if you change your mind.

Your options

  1. Close account and tell Amazon that
  2. Tell Amazon you wish to continue varification as an individual seller (assuming of course you are)
  3. Tell Amazon, no you are a sole propritor and will obtain the necessary documents

PS, I know your question was only how to reply to them, but I thought would try and make it a bit clearer for you to make an informed decision

Verification of an individual account seems to be relatively quick, if I was you, I’d carry on and get it verified, get your money and then leave it dormant incase you ever decided to sell again. Least then you wouldnt ever come to regret and have essentially nothing to lose?

Mainly used I think. I Accidentally put sole proprietor but I don’t understand what it means. How can someone prove they are an individual seller not selling for profit
