Urgent Appeal for Relief Measures for Third-Party FBA Sellers Amidst Trump Tariffs

Dear Amazon Moderators and Decision-Makers,

I’m reaching out on behalf of many small businesses, including my own, that depend on Amazon’s FBA program to thrive. The recent Trump tariffs have pushed us into a crisis, threatening our survival with skyrocketing costs. I urgently request that Amazon consider relief measures—such as reductions in selling fees, FBA fees, or advertising costs—to help us avoid widespread bankruptcies.

The Crushing Impact of Tariffs

The Trump tariffs, especially on imports from China, have hit FBA sellers hard. Over 70% of products sold on Amazon come from China/Taiwan, and some sellers now face tariffs as high as 145% on these goods. For example, a $10 product could now cost $24.50 or more to import, leaving little room for profit after fees and expenses. Many of us are operating at a loss or teetering on the edge of collapse.

Why This Matters to Amazon

We third-party sellers are vital to Amazon’s marketplace. We drive product diversity and customer satisfaction, which fuel Amazon’s success. If tariffs force us out, the marketplace could lose its vibrancy, reducing customer choice and hurting Amazon’s bottom line. Supporting us now protects the ecosystem we all rely on.

Proposed Relief Measures

Here are actionable steps Amazon could take:

Selling Fee Reductions: Temporarily lower referral fees to ease financial pressure and keep our prices competitive.

FBA Fee Reductions: Reduce fulfillment fees to offset rising import costs, helping us stay in the FBA program.

Advertising Cost Reductions: Offer discounts or subsidies on ads so we can maintain visibility without breaking our budgets.

These steps aren’t just about saving us—they’re about preserving Amazon’s thriving marketplace for the long haul.

Act Now

Time is running out. Without swift action, many small businesses won’t survive. I urge Amazon to implement these relief measures and stand with its sellers. Together, we can overcome this challenge and keep delivering for customers.

Thank you for your consideration. We’re counting on your support.

Will never happen, except for token gestures. Amazon wants sellers to absorb the tariffs. And it needs to maintain revenue for Wall Street.

Won't be necessary. Amazon CPCs will discount on their own as A) sellers pull back on advertising and B) sellers start to fail.

Unless, of course, Amazon places its thumb on the scale - higher minimum bids and budgets, higher "suggested bids" and other dark patterns.

Experienced sellers and agencies know their tricks, though, as well as the workarounds, including switching budget to off-Amazon clicks, which are also going to decline as companies pull back on ad spend.

Capitalism has no sympathy and is only loyal to profit. For every seller that fails on Amazon, there is a line behind them and they will chew through them happily.
