How to change brand names?

Hiya,

I am in the process of trying to change our brand name to our new trade mark brand name , I have been told by amazon that by doing this we will be able to remove other sellers who are trying to attach themselves to our listings!

However this has not been as easy as I would have hoped, Amazon have told me to update my brand name by using the inventory file and then uploading the document , by doing this only a few of my ASINS have updated. Amazon have then told me that I can not change the brand names and I will need to delete my current products and create new products with my new brand name, clearly this can be done as some of my ASINS have updated!

Can anyone please help us out as I feel like I am going to pull my hair out!!!

Kind regards
Shannon

Have you tried purge and replace option at the bottom of the upload inventory page? this deletes all your current listings and uploads your new ones at the same time. Hope it works.

Hiya,

We haven’t because we don’t want to loose our reviews and current rankings, its really annoying as this method we have used does work as it has updated some ASINS just not the majority of them !

Thanks

Hi,

You are not allowed to change the brand name of an existing product in Amazon catalog.

Amazon staff can do it for you if and only if you have a legitimate reason.

In my case it happened to me, the staff was very helpful and helped me to change the brand name because I did a mistake.

Just be aware Brand Registry does not completely remove other Sellers from selling against that Branded listing , if a claim is raised and the other Seller can provide invoices proving they have purchased the product from a legitimate source they will be allowed to continue selling that product, but they must prove origin. Brand Registry although a very useful tool in protecting a brand is not as well policed and secure as is claimed.
