Suspected IP Policy Violation - Help

Hello all, wonder if any one has any advice. We have received 7 suspected IP violations (one product, 7 size variants of said product). Upon inspection the Brand is incorrectly set up on the products, I do not know if this was done upon creation or if someone has amended this.

I spoke to someone regarding removing the violations and they said I needed to fix the listing with the correct brand before I can appeal the violations and have them removed. As the listings have been flagged, Amazon have removed the content from them. When I try to edit them I cannot save them amendments. When I go through seller support and fill in the form for them to do it I get a message saying it cannot be done as the listing is inactive.

I have messaged seller support but, as you can imagine, I have been given the run around, asking me to follow the steps I have already done, or that I need to set up a new ASIN if the brand is different, failing to understand I need to fix these listings to remove the violation.

Does any one have any experience with this and what steps to take to get it resolved? I feel a perpetual cycle of getting no where with seller support for 180 days before they drop off.

When did you list on it ?
Was it the correct Brand when you listed ?
Does the EAN match ?
What brand is on GS1 for the EAN ?

Is it just a case that it’s suspected as the brand name on the listing clashes with a brand used in search or title ie Disney on one, marvel on another

Have you tried removing the incorrect brand name ?

This is often the case you are caught in a Catch 22 situation. I have given up on some product which have had suspected IP Violations.

Your changes not being saved to the ASIN is normally because you don’t have edit control over the listing. What often happens is that someone else has the edit control and the power to resolve the issue.

The person with the power to resolve often not bothers and deletes the product from their catalogue. At that point no one has edit control so someone else can change the product to remove the infringement. If you wait a few weeks you often find you can edit the product.

With Suspected IP Violations they normally do not impact your account health and if you delete the product (in my experience) the suspected violation is removed from your account. It is not always the case but often it is.

Hello @Tiger_Safety1

This is Art from Amazon to assist you.

I’ve reviewed your post and understood that you need assistance with suspected IP violations under your account.

Amazon does not allow listings that violate the intellectual property rights of brands or other rights owners.

In order to remove the violations reflecting under your account health, you need to submit an appeal for each of the ASIN flagged.

If you are not the only seller contributing information to a product detail page, you might find that some of your requested changes do not appear.

As the listing is inactive, you will not be able to take any action to change or edit the listing.

In Addition to that, deleting the listing from your inventory does not solve the problem as the violation will be still reflecting under your account.

We would recommend you to address the violations by submitting an appeal as soon as possible and if you feel that the deactivation of listing is made in error then you would need to submit supporting documents such as Letter of Authorization or Licensing Agreement.

If you wish to set up a new ASIN then you must create a new ASIN with the relevant brand rather than update an existing ASIN.

Please refer to the section ‘listing products’ under our help page Selling on Amazon to know more information in detail.

Also, if you need assistance in addressing the violations then please reach out to our Account Health Support Team by visiting the Account Health Dashboard.

For any further assistance, please feel free to reach out to us as we are always here to help you.

Regards,
Art
