DDP from Alibaba

Hi there,

I am fairly new seller and I have looked at cheaper options to ship from China to UK.
I’ve seen there freight forwarder on Alibaba that can ship DDP to UK Amazon Warehouse.
Are these legitimate? Has anyone used them before?

Thanks in advance!!

not sure about freight forwarding but be careful purchasing from Alibaba and having the stock sent directly to Amazon - what if the items are faulty / fake - not like the sample you ordered ?
Also, when you have your 3 ASIN check, Amazon don’t accept most invoices from Alibaba

Alibaba is basically just a catalogue marketplace with suppliers for B2B sales, so as long as your invoice is legit through the factory/wholeseller and not from AliExpress (which is an actual B2C marketplace) you should be fine.

People keep making this mistake in giving advice because “it’s from China and Amazon does not accept these invoices” - which is false, they do as long as it’s from a B2B supplier

DDP is risky , always ask for DDU so you can the taxes your self and make sure everything is properly declared . Most shippers offering lower DDP price because they will not declare the full amount

You might also want to consider that, buyers have gotten wise to the existence of Aliexpress and similar Chinese sites and are buying directly from them. If a sellers plan is to buy cheap and mark up the prices on Amazon, they are unlikely to see sales that justify the effort, especially with FBA.

I can see a couple of really good valid points above but you honestly have no chance as a new seller buying from Alibaba if you were established you may have more of a chance but unlikely as a new seller its not just the pro-forma and counterfit to worry about with amazon the company needs to be a registered and searchable wholesaler so in the UK for example we would check company house I belive China is AIC but you will find it difficult to verify a Chinese supplier through alibaba which is registered.
I’m not saying its impossible but as soon as you start asking for vat number or AIC I dare bet you hit brick walls it’s not worth your account as a new seller in my opinion.

Hi, I’m new to selling online, I would check the ratings and reviews. FBA shippers are available if you type it in through Alibaba, check first choice shipping. Amazon recommended. If you are spending a lot of cash, use transferswise as Alibaba rest is high and it will add up.

Also, make contact with checking service or ensure to use from first choice or pay for a factory visit to ensure goods are correct prior to paying.

Yes, we use them. They’re legitimate and it almost always goes well. One time our whole shipment got stuck in customs but we did get it a month later.
