Can I send with Royal Mail stamps?

Hi. I wanted to post this on here because customer support are giving me conflicted replies…

I have been sending my large letters with untracked stamps but have been flagged up for not providing valid tracking? I use stamps for every other site I sell on as it’s easier for me to just stick a stamp on a package than to print one.

Is this an okay way to send packages without Amazon telling me off for it not being tracked? I basically only list my items for £3.50 and large letter tracked postage would cost me £2.50 which would literally give me no profit.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can still use Stamps to send Letter/Large Letter but make sure to use any of these options when confirming your shipment as per the latest announcement from Amazon

Royal Mail 1st class stamps/franking
Royal Mail 2nd class stamps/franking

That price is not right.

Yes you can use stamps. See Amazon latest announcement on the forum and it will explain.

To be honest I send alot of “small items” like wallets in large letters, I have an RM business account which prints the prepaid labels onto a thermal printer and is linked via the API… alot more quicker, faster, etc

Hi
I send mainly large letters. However the Amazon announcement states that you can use stamps/franking for letter size 0.5cm. (thickness).Large letter can be upto 2.5cm so I assume this to mean large letters have to have some form of tracking.

Please note using stamps to dispatch your orders not an integrated service and therefore not a requirement under the VTR policy. Its been noted that Amazon still sends us communication claiming the VTR is below 95% despite the information posted on Amazon forum and News.

Since the induction of this policy its caused a lot confusion among sellers who sell on the platform.

Restricting a sellers account because they haven’t complied with a policy is just unfair. Trying to resolve this issue has been an absolute nightmare. It appears to me right and doesn’t know what the left had is doing or the blind leading the blind. Its disappointing and stressful when you trying to make a living to find issues with their own polices which they cannot address. I have had so many disappointing experiences on this platform I am constantly wondering whether its worth the hassle to continue selling on this platform which claims to help small businesses.

Below is the actual wording

The Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) is all shipments with a valid tracking number as a percentage of total shipments during a given 30-day time period. VTR only applies to seller fulfilled orders.

Amazon’s customers depend on tracking numbers to find out where their orders are and when they can expect to receive them.

The following shipments are considered as exempted shipments

  1. Domestic Orders delivered through a carrier which is not integrated with Amazon 2. Digital products, e.g. Audio Book 3. EU Cross border deliveries, e.g. deliveries that are ordered on Amazon.co.uk and are dispatched from an EU country 4. International deliveries (excluding deliveries that are dispatched from China): International packages that are ordered on Amazon.co.uk but dispatched from outside the UK or China 5. Domestic deliveries dispatched through untracked delivery methods, for example Royal Mail Stamps/Franking 6. Deliveries that are dispatched using labels purchased on Amazon’s Buy Shipping Services (also known as MSS)

Anyone risking marking large letters and parcels as stamps/franking ?
Bearing in mind the item dimensions are on the listings

What I find frustrating is seller support closes cases when the matter has not been resolved, it happening too times. Also the moderators who are monitoring the messages on the forum don’t correct the advice if the information is not accurate.

Where would be without our fellow sellers support?
