VAT Services on Amazon
TLTR: DO NO HIRE AVASK
Hi fellow Sellers,
If you are looking to find a provider on Amazon for VAT Services, let me warn you, DO NOT HIRE AVASK.
About three months ago, I hired their service to register VAT in France and in the UK, off the table their response time was [Moderator Edit: inappropriate content removed]
If you send them an email, you will need to follow up daily, and after 2 weeks, you may/may not hear from them.
On May 10, I was given a warning by Amazon that my account would get blocked if I did not upload a valid VAT for the UK Marketplace in the next 60 days.
I was confident that by the end of 60 days, my VAT would get registered and be uploaded to Seller Central.
Exactly on July 10, my account was deactivated, because a valid VAT Number was not uploaded to Seller Central.
Now, I know this sh*t takes time, so I dropped an email to Avask, asking for an update.
After several follow-ups, they responded that they emailed me on June 16th, asking for "additional information" (the information I provided to them during that week wasn't sufficient), and by chance, I missed that email.
Entire[Moderator: inappropriate content removed] month, and they didn't bother to notify me that they still needed the additional information.
I provided them with the information they asked for, and now they want me to authorize them on HMRC Portal to do their stuff.
Now, their link is not working / something is not okay, since that day, I have been sending them emails daily, and I haven't heard a single word from them.

similar issues for me. I was transferred to AVASK from Jan2024 since TBA stopped working with Amazon. Although I have provided all documents to authorise the new VAT service provider they did not finish the registration. Meanwhile Amazon did not even generate the VAT filing from Jan2024 but kept charging me the subscription fee.
No VAT filing generated by amazon and no VAT filing submitted by AVASK (they even did not finish authorisation despite having all info) and I got penalty points at HMRC for not submitting VAT filings.
Of course as always, both Amazon & AVASK, if they finally answer, keep saying the other party is responsible for the issue.
I checked out HMRC myself and see that I can do the filing easily by myself and having control over everything and not having to deal to with these service providers.
