book pricing.
by Seller_N0kQDKMgwda6y

Can ANYONE make any sense of Amazons pricing policy ? I have had books deactivated for overpricing when it was rare, mine was the only one on Amazon and those few on ABE were £10 more. I was asked to provide a 'reference price' which was presumably the new price in about 1980 !

Now I have had another removed so I looked up the others for sale. Mine was £38. Ther are two at £30, which was not the case when I first listed as I am always the cheapest like for like. But there are three at £80, and the one new copy ( surely their 'reference price' ) is over £200 !

I cant make any sense of it at all. Book prices on Amazon are totally random. I have seen prices ranging from 10 to 200 for the same book and Amazon is mostly happy with it. But when one of the bucket shops puts up a valuable book for a ridiculous price i am suddenly expected to match it. I would rather take it down the charity shop. ( mind you, thats where the bucket shops get some of their books )

Is it just me or does this happen to others ?

I have made multiple shipments recently, and certain color variations of my products almost always go missing.

Shipment FBA15J26FK6J: 125 units packed, only 50 units received, 75 missing.

Shipment FBA15J2BTC0D: 125 units packed, only 74 units received, 50 missing (I found the 1 lost item).

Shipment FBA15J3G52YW is still active, 125 units packed, only 84 units received, 41 units missing.

Total missing units: 166.

There is a pattern to the missing items; they are all the same color variations - green, purple, and pink. This can't be an accident. They all have the same package quality, same label quality, and they are in the same box as others, but only these colors go missing. What is going on? Amazon support didn't help. They made no explanation about whats going on. As a seller, I am starting to loose my trust to amazon.

Order defect rate
by Seller_P1JDDSj1K8mYk
Amazon replied

Hi everyone,

I'm a new seller on Amazon and launched my first product on May 14, 2024. Over the past month, from May 14 to June 14, I've had 27 sales, but unfortunately, one order was defective. Now, Amazon has sent me a message stating that my account is at risk because my defect rate is 6.50%.

As a new seller, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. Does anyone have advice on how to handle this situation and reduce my defect rate? Any tips on improving product quality and maintaining a healthy account would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Greedy Seller
In reply to: Seller_UVeFCZoAA4mkx’s postby Seller_Fg2fqaWOnEtha

That's selling for you. Personally I'd rather focus on products that might sell less but have less competition. If a new seller arrives and sell them for a lot less, I let them do it (unless I want to get rid of the products) and keep my ideal price. Soon or later they will go. If they stay, well I move on, there are lots of products in the sea.

If I take into account the returns, the packaging, the missing orders, the labour involved etc I'd rather have 100 products that sell 5 times a week each with a good margin rather than have one product that sells 80 times a day for 20p margin.

Hello,

Here is my original forum post here.

It's best to read my previous post for full details, but long story short, Amazon has not resolved an issue that's been ongoing for 7 months. The moderators also seem to have abandoned my case, as it's getting no attention.

I've opened this second forum post to give Amazon another chance to resolve this before escalating further. I would appreciate it if anyone could tag any moderators to bring more attention to my case.

@Seller_TSXM2A5nxWSuH initially tried to help but went silent over a month ago. Can we please reconnect?

Hello Amazon Customer Service!

We are sorry to hear about the claim for the order "171-6526572-8380304". However, after we appealed the order, Amazon ruled against us, which we believe is unreasonable and unfair. On 22 May 2024, the customer requested to return the product, we approved the return request within 24 hours and provided a return address, Amazon has automatically generated a return label, and the customer, although returning the product according to this label, returned not our product, and the refund was automatically issued by Amazon as early as 4 June. The customer suddenly opened a claim on 17 June 2024, many days after the refund was issued, and the customer was automatically counted in the order defect rate after opening the claim. We think this judgement from Amazon is unreasonable and would appreciate Amazon's help in doing another review, thank you! @Robert_Amazon @Jim_Amazon @Tatiana_Amazon @Quincy_Amazon @KJ_Amazon

The value specified is invalid. On Every Listing?
In reply to: Seller_m0vMpGwaCESpF’s postby Seller_Mk05QEX4AfYsX

I am having the same issue I reached out to amazon but it seems like they do not acknowledge this as a wider ranging issue. I suspect its likely related to an update. Did they give you a fix for this issue? More than 80 percent of my listing's are affected. Its ridiculous. The only fix they suggested is they update my listing's manually. Its clearly an issue on their side since it seems to be quiet common and weeks ago everything was fine.

FBA Item Labels Not Letting Me Print
by Seller_bWmqbJXF7ioIk
Amazon replied

Hi All,

I'm facing an issue when trying to print item labels for an FBA and was wondering if anyone else has come across this and how I can fix it.

I selected all the items that are in my FBA, but when I went through to input the quantity I need for each item, the number of items I had selected jumped down from 17 to 4.

I tried again with a smaller amount of items and still had the same issue. I then tried with a singular item but had the message attached.

I'm not sure why this is happening I then tried again with a random item in the inventory and had the same issue.

Can anyone help?

Shopping cart lost
by Seller_dxqvWKS3gmDtf

All of our conditions are in line with the requirements for the selected offer, but the entire store's shopping cart was lost on the morning of May 13. I have been waiting for a month, and this is very important for my sales. I learned that a large number of sellers have encountered the same problem since April 27, and it is caused by the system. I am really desperate. I don't know who to ask for help. Can you help me restore the shopping cart in my store?

book pricing.
In reply to: Seller_N0kQDKMgwda6y’s postby Seller_FQHkqHJI5SqTh

No, not just you.

Just to highlight the vaguery of Amazon's pricing policy: listed a copy of ISBN 9789774249013 at £83 a few weeks ago. At the time it was the only copy anywhere online. As expected it almost instantly spawned a listing by Paper Cavalier at getting on for twice the price.

Thought I'd sold it so closed the listing; PC's price jumped to £600+.

So who knows how it works.
