Thank you @Seller_QuM1AZgzfU9x4 for your detailed reply.

After some research I did find that some countries referal fees dropped to compensate for the DSF.

In fact, in France & Italy referal fee dropped from 15,45% to 15% and in the UK from 15,3% to 15% (because the UK has a 2% fee, whereas we in France have a 3% fee).

However, in Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, the fee remaind at 15% as it was before the DSF was introduced as a standalone. As a result, in these countries the fees have increased.

Moreover, I have found with certainty that the DSF is applied on the FBA fees which were not decreased in any way thus accounting for an overall higher fee in total.

As a conclusion, we are paying more fees than we were before october 1st.

Can you confirm in regards to your FBA fees?

It's difficult to be exact since your figures are in Euros and i don't know to what extent the rates may differ from the UK.

Generally though the original DST was covered by Amazon increasing the main referral fee from 15% to 15.3%. I don't recall there being any increase to FBA fees.

With the latest change the main referral fee has reduced back to 15% which is good for FBM sellers (and FBA sellers), but the other FBA fees are now in scope which means often there is a slight increase to the total fees for FBA sellers - as you've found.

As to your referral fee always being 3.30, that's 15% rather than 15.3% so in the UK that would match with the lowering of the referral fee.

A2X and LinkMyBooks?
by Seller_uPuf4V7GDz2aH

I use LinkMyBooks and give it a 10/10

It does everything you need it to do, correctly mapping tax rates and breaking down everything by fee type etc.

And you know there won't be any discrepancies as the settlement is matched to the bank transfer.

On October 1, we’ll introduce a stand-alone digital services fee for digital services taxes (DST) implemented by the governments of the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Canada.

The typical DST rate is 2% in the UK and 3% in France, Italy, Spain and Canada. Since 2021, we’ve accounted for DST by increasing Selling on Amazon fees in the UK, France, Italy and Spain, and Fulfilment by Amazon fees in the UK and France. Starting on October 1, we’ll reduce these fees and account for this cost by introducing a stand-alone digital services fee.

DST charges are unpredictable as they vary based on the location of your business, the location of the buyer and other factors. Rather than base the stand-alone digital services fee on these location variables, which would create an unpredictable business impact because you can’t know the location of customers who will buy your products, we’ll introduce a fixed digital services fee only based on your location and the store in which you sell.

If your business is established in the UK, the digital services fee will apply as a percentage increase to Selling on Amazon fees and Fulfilment by Amazon fees. For example:

  • If your business is established in the UK and you sell a £15 item in the UK store, a 2% digital services fee will apply on your Selling on Amazon fees (£0.05 on £2.25) and Fulfilment by Amazon fees (£0.07 on £3.30) for sales starting on October 1.

If your business is established in France, Italy, Spain or Canada and you sell in the UK store, the digital services fee will apply as a percentage increase to Selling on Amazon fees and Fulfilment by Amazon fees (for France only). For example:

  • If your business is established in Italy and you sell a £15 item in the UK store, a 3% digital services fee will apply on your Selling on Amazon fees (£0.07 on £2.25) for sales starting on October 1.

To better help you understand how this fee will affect your business, including rates by country and more examples, go to Digital services fee.

Starting on September 1, you’ll be able to preview the fee in the Revenue Calculator and from October 1 you can track your digital services fees via the Transaction View in your Payments reports. If you use Pan-European FBA, the digital services fee will be accounted for in our free Automate Pricing tool starting on October 1.

usually 15% of the selling price inc vat.

It is 15% plus VAT not incl VAT. Having checked, the figures work out the same.

Example old fees

Selling price £10

Old referral fee 15.3% = £1.53

VAT 20% on £1.53 = £0.31

Total fee (£1.53+ £0.31) = £1.84

Example new DST fee

Selling price £10

New referral fee 15% = £1.50

DST 2% on £1.50 = £0.03

VAT 20% on £1.53 = £0.31

Total fee (£1.50 + £0.03 + £0.31) = £1.84

Disguised Fee Increase - Digital Services Fee
by Seller_IC5dxZRZpcM4T

Not sure if anyone else has noticed. The Reduction of the standard referral fee from 15.3% to 15% from beginning of Oct 24 was welcome, however this has been replaced with the digital services fee of 2% (for UK) on the fees charged to sellers. The net effect of this in one example I looked into this morning is that a reduction of £0.04 on referral fee but increase of £0.14 for the Digital services fee.

Make sure you adjust your prices accordingly because many products are low margins as it is. This increase in fees is disguised as a separation of fees but is actually an increase in the fee charged.

It's really funny. I only spent 30 £ to send one to the buyer, but the buyer spent 140 £ to return the package to me, and through A to Z claim, got support from Amazon. While getting a full refund of 400 £, an additional 140 £ was deducted from my account to provide to the buyer.

What's even more ridiculous is that more than a month has passed, and I still haven't received the goods returned by the buyer. It may never be received, or it may just be an empty package.

If the buyer says that he didn't receive the package, their claims team will ask us to provide proof of receipt. On the contrary, we say that we didn't receive the package. Sorry, it has nothing to do with them. More and more people are fleeing this platform. A large part of the credit goes to the claims team.

I need some advice thank you
by Seller_DhLjUEFlzJbbT

Hi everyone,

I really need your advice.

I’ve been selling electronic products on Amazon for one month. Recently, I used the Vine program to gift some products to customers in order to gather reviews as a new seller. Unfortunately, a customer gave the product to their 10-year-old son, even though it is clearly stated in the manual that the product is not recommended for children under 14. The child ended up getting burned, and I received a one-star review, which has significantly impacted my new business.

Now, my product rating has dropped to 4.2 out of 5, and the sales report isn’t looking good for a new business. I tried contacting Amazon to report this issue, but their response wasn’t positive—they consider it an honest review, despite the fact that it was caused by misuse, which was clearly outlined in the manual. I have disputed the review, but there hasn’t been any further response from Amazon.

What should I do in this case?

Thank you so much for your help.
