Account deactivated and Funds not released
Hi,
Really hope someone can help me. Amazon deactivated my account because they thought I was a business but in fact, I was selling my collection of cds and dvds I had collected over the years. I have tried for 2 years to try and get them to re-activate my account but no luck.
I have sent about x10 appeals and it keeps saying that someone will come back to me but no one ever does.
And they also have my funds of £227 which they have kept for several years.
I have sent emails to seller support and again they don’t help.
I hope someone on hear can help me with this issue as at the moment, I keep going round in circles.
Many thanks
Sanj

The email address to request any remaining funds is disbursement-appeals@amazon.co.uk
It’s the team there that make a decision on releasing funds, not Support.

Did you ever sell any of them as ‘new’ ?

As per above post, if you listed any as new they will have assumed that you are a business - you can only list ‘used’ items with the Individual Account.

Hi JillyB1,
I had no idea about that because most of my items were “new” as I never watched or listened to the items which I had for sale.
So does that mean that anyone who simply wants to sell an unwanted gift which is new has to open a business account?
Many thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.

You can only sell as new if purchased from the manufacture or reseller.
Otherwise product is like new, not new.
This is due to way warranty works, for example when purchased from reseller warranty starts from the date you have sold. In your case warranty starts from the date you have purchased.
This is the reason

If you still want to try and reactivate your account, make sure that your POA is in the required 3 point format that Amazon expect.
In your appeal you will need to explain that you were not aware that with an Individual seller account you could not sell items as ‘New’, and that you realise they should have been listed as Used-like new.
Do not try and open another account or you will end up in an even worse mess !
