Account verification - help!
Hi everyone. I can’t get reimbursements because my ‘account information’ is incomplete. I thought I had sorted all this a while back, but apparently not. There is only one field incomplete, and that is the one with the business name (I am ‘sole proprietor’ as they would not accept ‘individual’) and the ‘UTR number’ which I don’t have.
Do I absolutely need one of these? I don’t earn enough to pay tax and do not want to have to go through these hoops.

If you are a sole proprietor then you need to register with hmrc and obtain a utr number
On amazon, anyone who buys and sells for a profit must be registered as such - regardless of amount earned
Whilst HMRC have the threshold of £1000 turnover before requiring registration, amazon do not

Just to agree with ‘Little_Shop’ - if you are buying (or making) items to sell for profit (regardless of how much profit you make), you must, by law, be registered with HMRC as self-employed, probably sole-trader, and supply Amazon with your UTR number.
What do you sell ? You cannot sell ‘new’ items with an Individual Seller Account.

Do you buy those books/items with the intention of making a profit or is it your own collection?

Then you need to be registered as a business and be doing tax returns
