Click & Drop Question

On the 31st December we manifested our post but it was not collected for some reason.

Will Royal Mail be able to collect this post today using the original manifest without any issues?

We will also be manifesting todays post separately. So there will be 2 manifest for RM to scan and collect today.

It shouldn’t be a problem really.

Some people have reported Posties can be a bit picky / awkward over the dated manifests, but most just pick them up without question and scan the barcodes.

I would simply just hand over your orders with the printed off manifests and if questioned, just explain your orders were not collected on the 31st.

I was due a collection yesterday as well, they never showed, it should have been a Sunday hours collection, so about 12ish. No doubt today, they’ll be back to a normal 5pm pick up.

I would definitely make a note of the dates etc and have an email prepared as many on here have reported receiving surcharges from post bought on amazon which is manifested on a saturday but collected and processed on a monday - i believe the new sorting/scanning machines are the issue rather than the postie who collects it
it may just be a buy shipping issue with regards to the sellers not presenting and scanning the saturday manifest that is the issue, but worth noting

Have you processed the orders using C&D or through Amazon Buy Shipping?

I can’t say for certain the last time I had an issue with the collection, but I think the last time was around the begining of November with a new Postie on the collection round.

Forutantely, I had a feeling yesterday that they wouldn’t pick up, so I put the dispatch dates for the 4th rather than the 3rd when processing my postage labels through C&D. If they had of arrived, I was going to quickly manifest everything I’d got done yesterday.

Ours is through C&D, nothing to do with Amazon. Thanks for all the info. I’ve separated the sacks and manifests and will try to have a chat with the postie when they collect.

I assume we will take a hit through VTR as there will be no scans until today…not sure if there is anything we can do about that though.

In the event this happens again the future - are we able to drop our sacks off at a sorting centre or something?

My collection person doesn’t even check the date, they just scan the barcode. On the other note I used to work for Royalmail as a casual worker these documents they collect from us usually end up in the bin or in the mail bag floating around. I received mail bags in the post from some of them will the previous customer details on them. Unless you come across a jobsworth you should not be worried about it, as long as it’s not a repeated action.

Yes, RM will collect both manifests.

A while back they did not come for my collection and had to collect 2 manifests the next day. Not a problem.

We use Click and Drop although not through Amazon. As with all bank holidays we checked with our Posties who told us on the 29th that there would be no pick ups on the 31st and the same on the Monday so we were quite prepared. We had checked the postage and delivery dates on Amazon to make sure that we had taken no risks which would affect our stats.
