Deactivated due to verification
I have been registered a sole trader with HMRC from 1 January 2023. I opened my Amazon account mid to late January using all my sole trade details and UTR number etc. Since, I have made multiple sales and also received two disbursements. A few days ago my account suddenly got deactivated as the verification team say I selected the wrong legal entity. They keep telling me on the continuous messages back and forth that I incorrectly selected Sole Proprietor. This is clearly not the case as I am registered with HMRC. No matter how many messages and information I submit on the verification page they keep coming back and saying the entity type is incorrect. Has anybody else had this problem or have any advice please? Thanks.

I think now when we get our business bank account set up I will just update the legal entity to limited company, even tough I wanted to keep trading as a sole trader for a bit longer

No, everything to do with business is addressed in Northern Ireland or England

I can’t understand why it offers sole proprietor and then also UK sole proprietor ?!

When I select from the entity’s it doesn’t actually give an option for UK Sole Proprietor, just Sole Proprietor along with Ltd company etc

Sorry, again to emphasise the point. I was deactivated BEFORE the limited company was created
